Additional Persecution News from China – March 17, 2012 (31 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 26 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According this report, 20 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 22 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Meng Yue Held in Zaohua Detention Center

Ms. Meng Yue, about 50, is from the Shenhe District, Shenyang City. She was arrested on March 9, 2012, by officers from the Nanhu Police Station in the Heping District. She was sent to the Zaohua Detention Center to serve a 30-day sentence. Her family was not allowed to see her.

3. [Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Wenfeng Locked in a Small Cell in Jilin Prison

Prison guard Zhang Yibing beat Mr. Zhang Wenfeng at the end of February 2012, because Mr. Zhang had not attended brainwashing sessions and would not be “transformed”. He later locked Mr. Zhang in a small cell.

4. [Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Honghui and Mr. Li Guangjun Appeal to Higher Court after Illegal Sentence

Ms. Dong Shulan's daughters (Ms. Liu Honghui, Ms. Liu Hongyan, and Ms. Liu Hongxia} and her son-in-law, Mr. Li Guangjun, were arrested on the evening of April 27, 2012. The police ransacked their home and confiscated a lot of personal belongings.

Ms. Liu Honghui and Mr. Li Guangjun are being held at the Jilin City Detention Center. Ms. Liu Hongyan is being held in Heizuizi Women's Prison after her sentencing. Ms. Liu Hongxia's whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Liu Honghui and Mr. Li Guangjun were sentenced to prison on December 17, 2011, and January 31, 2012, respectively. Ms. Liu and Mr. Li later appealed to Jilin City Intermediate Court.

5. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gao Yixi Left Home after It Was Ransacked

Wang Xueyi, police officer of the Muling City Forestry Bureau, and four other officers broke into Mr. Gao Yixi's home on the morning of February 28, 2012. The police ransacked the place and took Falun Gong lecture books, a DVD player, a recorder, 24 copies of Minghui Weekly, and 1,400 yuan in paper bills that had Falun Gong truth clarification messages written on them. Mr. Gao escaped and had to leave home to avoid arrest.

6. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhang Jianwen Held in Shimaping Detention Center

Mr. Zhang Jianwen was arrested for speaking with people about Falun Gong on March 3, 2012. He is being held at the Shimaping Detention Center in the Qinzhou District, Tianshui City.

8. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Hang Xia Arrested

Ms. Hang Xia, 46, was followed by Pan Jiangchao, secretary of the Neighborhood Committee, as she spoke with people about Falun Gong on the evening of March 12, 2012. Pan reported Ms. Hang to the police and Ms. Hang was later arrested.

9. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Xuebin Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Li Xuebin was arrested while distributing Falun Gong truth clarification pamphlets by officers from the Laishan District Police Department on the afternoon of February 13, 2012. He was taken to the Binhai Police Station and was later sent to the Caojiazhuang Detention Center for 15 days. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor on February 27 and transferred to the Jinan Forced Labor Camp.

10. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhu Fenglan Detained

Ms. Zhu Fenglan, retired from the Xinxiang Grain Bureau, was handing out Shen Yun DVDs on March 13, 2012. She was arrested by two people who claimed to be 610 Office personnel and was taken to the Xinxiang Detention Center for 10 days.

11. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Xiuying Arrested

Ms. Yu Xiuying from the Taishang Village, Songcun Town, Wendeng City, was followed by a plainclothes officer while she was speaking with people about Falun Gong and handing out pamphlets on March 15, 2012. Xiang Hongping, head of the Wendeng City 610 Office, and other officers broke into Ms. Yu's home. They ransacked it and arrested her.

12. [Chiping County, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Mingshen Detained

Ma Ruijin from the Chiping Domestic Security Division and officers from the Liaocheng City Police Department broke into Mr. Liu Mingshen's home on the afternoon of March 15, 2012, and arrested him. The police confiscated a computer and other personal belongings. Mr. Liu is being held at the Chiping Detention Center.

13. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhu Guorong Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zhu Guorong, who works in the Education College of the Shengli Oil Field, was reported for speaking with people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of March 14, 2012. He was later arrested and taken to the brainwashing center established by the Shengli Oil Field.

14. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ju Shuying Arrested

Several officers, including Xiang Hongping from the Wendeng Domestic Security Division and Sun Jingxiao from the Zhangjiachan Police Station broke into Ms. Ju Shuying's home in Dianzi Village on the morning of March 16, 2012. The police pushed Ms. Ju into a car and took her away.

15. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sai Xufang Interrogated and Home Ransacked

Wendeng Domestic Security Division officer Xiang Hongping and officers from the Mishan Town Police Station went to the home of 77-year-old Mr. Sai Xufang in Xizhai Village, Mishan Town, Wendeng City, on March 6, 2012. They ransacked the place and took Mr. Sai away. The police tried to extort a confession from him in Mishan Police Station. Mr. Sai was released in the evening.

16. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Hua and Ms. Tian Fengju Taken to a Brainwashing Center

About eight officers from the Liangjiashan Town Police Station broke into the home of Mr. Wang Hua and Ms. Tian Fengju in Xinglong Village, Liangjiashan Town, on March 14, 2012. The police arrested the two practitioners and took them to a brainwashing center located at the Shulan Grain Bureau Hotel. Mr. Wang was in pajamas and had no shoes on when he was taken away.

17. [Jiaxiang County, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yuping Arrested on March 15, 2012

19. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Meiling and Ms. Cheng Xianfang Detained

Ms. Li Meiling and Ms. Cheng Xianfang, from Dishang Village, Rizhuang Town, Laixi City, was arrested by officers from the Rizhuang Town Police Station on the evening of March 14, 2012. They were taken to the Laixi City Detention Center the next day. The officers from the Rizhuang Town Police Station ransacked Ms. Li's home on March 15 and confiscated a computer, a paper cutter, and several couplets on scrolls.

20. [Shanghai] Mr. Huang Naiwei Detained

Mr. Huang Naiwei from the Luwan District was arrested for speaking with people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of March 14, 2012. He is being held at the Huangpu Detention Center.

21. [Chiping County, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Mingsen Arrested

Officers from the Chiping County Police Department and the 610 Office went to Mr. Liu Mingsen's home on March 15, 2012. The police ransacked the place and took him away. Mr. Liu is being detained.

22. [Wucheng County, Shandong Province] Mr. Jiao Xintian Arrested

Mr. Jiao Xintian from Xiangxiaotun Village, Wucheng County, was taking a bus to Tangshan City to do some odd jobs on March 15, 2012. When the bus was near the Baizhuang Toll Station, the officer conducted a check and found Shen Yun DVDs in Mr. Jiao's luggage. The officer arrested Mr. Jiao and took him to the Wucheng Detention House. Mr. Jiao's family was not allowed to visit him. Mr. Jiao is now being held at the Wucheng Detention Center.

23. [Yi County, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Lingpo Arrested

Officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Yi County Police Department and the Zijingguan Town Police Station went to Ms. Liu Lingpo's home in Junyu Village, Zijingguan Town, on March 6, 2012. They ransacked it and confiscated two truth clarification DVDs. Ms. Liu's whereabouts are unknown.

24. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Deqian's Wife Monitored

Mr. Wang Deqian from Longmen Village, Longmen Town, Laishui County, was sentenced to four years of prison at Jidong Prison in Tangshan. His release date is March 12, 2012. Because of the National Congress and the Political Consultative Conference, Longmen Town and Longmen Village each sent personnel to go with his family to the prison to get Mr. Wang. Mr. Wang's wife is retired and is being monitored around the clock.

25. [Chao'an County, Guangdong Province] Ms. Yang Lihua Taken to Conghua Brainwashing Center

26. [Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Hong Huizhu, Ms. Chen Yuxian, and Ms. Chen Linfen Sentenced to Forced Labor Terms

Ms. Hong Huizhu was arrested by local Domestic Security Team officers on April 9, 2010. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor.

Ms. Chen Linfen and Ms. Chen Yuxian were arrested on may 15, 2011. They were sentenced to one year and two years of forced labor, respectively.

Ms. Xu Xiaogao was arrested by officers from the Longhai City Domestic Security Team on July 1, 2009. She was sentenced to three years in prison and is still in Fuqing Prison.

27. [Xiangyang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Xing Lei Arrested

On March 16, 2012, several people of unknown identity arrested non-practitioner Mr. Xing Lei, about 30, son of practitioners Mr. Xing Guangming and wife, Ms. Nie Zhenlan. Mr. Xing's whereabouts are unknown.

28. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Sun Fang Arrested on March 16, 2012, and Her Whereabouts Unknown

29. [Chongqing] List of Practitioners Detained in Zouma Women's Prison

Ms. Jingwei, 30, was sentenced to 16 years of prison. Ms. Li Yan, in her 40s, was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Ms. Ding Hongmei, in her 50s, was sentenced to seven years in prison. Ms. Liao Wentao, about 40, was sentenced to five years in prison. Ms. Zhao Jun, about 20, was sentenced to four years in prison.

30. [Taoyuan County, Hunan Province] Mr. Xie Fubai Imprisoned

Mr. Xie Fubai, 77, was reported for handing out Falun Gong materials on March 15, 2012. He was arrested and taken to the Erligang Police Station. The police ransacked his home that afternoon. Mr. Xie refused to write the guarantee statement and was taken to Qianniushan Prison.

Ms. Wang Guiqin was arrested by officers from the Nuanquan Town 610 Office for speaking with people about Falun Gong on March 14, 2012. The police ransacked the homes of Ms. Wang and her mother and confiscated Falun Dafa books and other personal belongings. Ms. Wang's whereabouts are unknown.
