(Minghui.org) Four practitioners were illegally arrested on the night of July 19, 2012, as they hung up banners with information about Falun Gong. Practitioners Niu Guifang, Niu Guihua, Qu Lihong and Chen Min, from Hushitai Town in Shenyang City, were taken into custody around 9 p.m. by officers from the Xinchengzi Street Police Station.
The following day, officers from the Xinchengzi Street Police Station, the Hushitai Police Station and the Domestic Security Division broke into and ransacked the practitioners' homes in the small town of Hushitai, located in the Shenbei New District of Shenyang. In the process, they took a large amount of cash and valuables that belonged to the practitioners.
At around 10 a.m. on July 20, police officers forced their way into the home of Ms. Niu Guifang. As no one was home at the time, they broke into and burglarized the house. Subsequently, Ms. Niu's husband and daughter found that 22,000 yuan in cash, one gold ring, and two bank booklets were gone. The officers also took a desktop computer worth 4,000 yuan, a sewing machine and many bolts of cloth. They subsequently claimed that the sewing machine and cloth had been used to make Falun Gong banners.
Shenyang police also ransacked the homes of practitioners Niu Guihua, Qu Lihong and Chen Min. They took three cell phones and other personal items from Chen Min's house, as well as a computer, Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs and other items from Qu Hongli's house.
Practitioners Ren Xiuqin and Lv Guoqin came to visit Qu Hongli around 1 p.m., when the police was on the premises ransacking the house. As a result, they were taken into custody. Later in the day, their homes were also ransacked.
At midnight, practitioners Niu Guifang, Niu Guihua, Qu Hongli and Chen Min were sent to the Shenyang First Detention Center. Ren Xiuqin and Lv Guoqin were released.
