(Minghui.org) On June 7, 2012, when Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Yanfen from Shenyang City was clarifying the facts about Falun Gong at Zhongshan Square in Heping District, Shenyang City, she was arrested by police. They didn't notify her family, so they had to spend a lot of effort locating her. Ms. Liu is currently detained at Shenyang City No.1 Detention Center, and her case has been transferred to Heping District Court.
Ms. Liu Yanfen
Ms. Liu Yanfen is 52 years old. In 1995, she began to practice Falun Dafa. Prior to that, she had trigeminal neuralgia, rheumatism and other diseases. Because she had been suffering from her illnesses for a long time, she became very short-tempered and often argued with her husband. After she began to practice Falun Gong, she began to realize that as a practitioner she needed to follow Truth-Compassion-Forbearance and think of others in doing everything. From then on, she truly came to be illness-free and to have harmony in her life.
On June 7, 2012, in order to help more people learn the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), she went to Zhongshan Square in Heping District, Shenyang City to hand out truth-clarification flyers, but was arrested by police. Not until her family members asked around, did they find out that Ms. Liu was being held at Shenyang City No.1 Detention Center.
On June 11, 2012, police officers from Zhanxi Police Station in Heping District, Shenyang City went to ransack Ms. Liu's home.
Officials from the detention center refused to let her family members visit her. They were only allowed to send in clothes and money for her. As to how she was doing, they were completely in the dark, so they became very worried.
After June 20, 1999, when the CCP began to persecute Falun Gong, Ms. Liu went to Beijing to appeal to the government many times to reinstate the reputation of Falun Gong. She was arrested many times. One time she was taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for one year. After a two-month hunger strike, she managed to escape.
