(Minghui.org) Officials from Dangdong City and Donggang City 610 Office in Liaoning Province colluded to set up brainwashing sessions to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. They also made a kind of “commitment card” with words defaming Falun Gong to deceive people and told them to sign it.

1. Practitioners Sent to a Brainwashing Center for Refusing to Renounce Falun Gong

Since the second half of 2011, the officials from the Dandong 610 Office have ordered the local 610 Offices in the Dandong area, the local governments and residential committees, and local police stations, to go door to door to Falun Gong practitioner' homes to force them to give up their belief. They forced them to write the three statements to renounce Falun Gong, or to sign the forged three statements. They threatened practitioners who refused to cooperate and declared they would send them to the brainwashing center. Several practitioners in Donggang suffered from the persecution.

In February 2012, in the Wulong Village of the Longwangmail Town, village head Hu Qingwu went to Mr. Yu Yanli's home and threatened to send him to the Donggang brainwashing center. During the past year, he had reported the practitioners in his village to authorities many times.

From August 25 to August 27, 2011, Hu Qingwu went to practitioner Mr. Zhang Hua's home several times to force him to write a guarantee statement to give up his practice of Falun Gong. When Mr. Zhang refused, Hu brought out a forged letter to force him to sign, but he refused. Hu became angry and declared he would come back and bring Zhang Hua to the brainwashing center. When he came back three days later, Mr. Zhang was not home.

On August 26, 2011, Hu Wuqing brought with him officials from the Donggang 610 Office and Longwangmiao Town government, which totaled over a dozen people. They broke into Mr. Yang Guotang's home. They tried to force Mr. Yang and his wife, Ms. Feng Shuxiang, to sign/thumb print the letter to give up their practice of Falun Gong, but both of them refused.

Ms. Ma Shurong had been out of her home in exile for a few years, and she just came back home last year. Hu worked with the 610 Office, attempting to persecute her husband, Mr. Yu Yanli.

2. Non-practitioners Forced to Sign “Commitment Cards” that Defame Falun Gong

Since the second half of 2011, the officials from the Dandong 610 Office ordered the local 610 Offices in the Dandong area, the local governments and residential committees, and local police stations to go door to door to ask people to sign the “commitment cards” that defamed Falun Gong. They even rewarded money to people who did so.

When people did not cooperate, they tried to order them to do so, but many people knew the truth and refused to do it. They threatened these people first, and if that did not work, they fined them. They did this everywhere in the Dandong area including in the city and the countryside.

At the end of 2011, the village head of the Yangming Village in Huangdukan Town, Donggang, forced the villagers to sign the “commitment cards.” When they refused, he declared he would take away the 300-yuan welfare from the families. Some people had to do it for the money, and they were even forced to save the cards for future checks.

3. Warning from Heaven

On December 22, 2009, three practitioners from Dandong and 14 practitioners in Donggang were arrested. Among them, seven practitioners were sentenced to from three to ten years in prison. One practitioner was sentenced to forced labor, and many practitioners were charged, monitored or put on a wanted list. Some practitioners' family members or relatives, including a child less than 10 years old, suffered from arrest or interrogation even though they were not practitioners.
