(Clearwisdom.net) Last night, the local coordinator called me to say that a practitioner who was rescued from prison had passed away. We immediately went to the practitioner's home. When we arrived, there were already many other practitioners there, sending forth righteous thoughts. My heart was full of sorrow when I saw him lying there peacefully. After we calmed down, the local coordinator said, “Since we are all here, let's have a short sharing.” We shared for a bit, and then sent righteous thoughts. I left soon after. Later, two practitioners visited me, and we shared until dawn.
When we sat down and talked, we discussed the following:
When the practitioner passed away, what was our first thought? This was critical. Cultivation is serious. Why did this happen? Did it have anything to do with our own lacking? Can we find our shortcomings from the perspective of Fa-rectification cultivation?
After we rescued the practitioner from prison, we did not follow up. We did not guide him on the Fa and remind him to be diligent. We did not strengthen our righteous thoughts or share often. These were all our shortcomings.
The practitioner was severely tortured during his detention, and was released on medical parole. Did he himself realize the seriousness of cultivation? Did he truly treat himself as a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple? Did he follow Master's words strictly?
As fellow cultivators, when we learned that this practitioner had passed away, did we examine ourselves to see if we could keep faith in Master and the Fa? Nothing is simple or coincidental.
At this point, we were all sending righteous thoughts for him and to completely negate the evil arrangements. We hoped his primordial spirit would return. Our mission was to assist Master in the Fa-rectification. Since the Fa-rectification hasn't been completed, we as disciples should not depart. Right now, have we truly treated fellow practitioners' issues as our own issues?
As a whole, are we truly one body, assisting this practitioner with our whole hearts and minds?
We should not pursue results. The process is the most important. Everything is complicated. Regardless of the result, at this moment, if we have truly done our best, then that is all right. If we were too focused on the result, then it would be easy for the evil forces to take advantage of us. It's how much we put our hearts into it that counts!
Nothing that happens is a simple matter. The things we see and encounter are all there to help us cultivate away our human attachments and grow righteous thoughts such as compassion and tolerance. How we understand things, and how completely we can enlighten to all of the inner meanings, are also critically important. Enlightenment is also a part of xinxing.
Some practitioners are good at studying the Fa and have good enlightenment quality. They are able to gain many understandings and eliminate many attachments from the occurrence of one thing. These people will probably encounter fewer problems. They can focus all their efforts on saving people. On the other hand, those with poor enlightenment quality will encounter a lot of issues, which will surely be distracting. If that's the case, why don't we improve our enlightenment quality? We should be able to see our shortcomings and find our deeply-hidden attachments from even the most trivial things. After we eliminate our attachments, we can use a purer, more solid heart and mind to save people. Wouldn't that be great! The key to improving enlightenment quality is still good Fa study.
