(Clearwisdom.net) Editors' note: In both Western and Chinese cultures, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward acts that are in harmony with this principle, while doing things such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

Wang Ming was the Party Secretary of the village council at Dongbei Street of Wanquan Township, Wanquan County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. Wang had been involved in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners since July 1999. He spared no means in persecuting practitioners, such as illegally ransacking their homes, organizing public degradation meetings, penalizing practitioners by forcing them to kneel or stand for long periods of time, and beating, verbally abusing and blackmailing practitioners. At times, all Falun Gong practitioners were forced to pay 5,000 yuan. While carrying out this extortion, Wang Ming suddenly suffered from thrombosis in the brain. He had to spend tens of thousands of yuan on treatment but was not cured, and needed 24 hours assistance in his daily life. In the summer of 2007, two practitioners went to his home again to clarify the truth to him about Falun Gong. Wang cursed those practitioners and drove them away. On October 22, 2007, Wang's illness worsened and he died at the age of 54.

His original purpose was to receive a reward for this, but he received none. On January 3, 2006, Liu went to Blue Lake in the North Mountain near his village. At the time, the lake was frozen. Liu walked underneath the icy cliffs of the mountain. Suddenly a big chunk of ice fell down and hit Liu; he was seriously injured and sent to a hospital. Li's son had a collision while riding his motorcycle and broke his leg bone, which incurred more medical expenses.
