(Clearwisdom.net) On April 18, Falun Gong practitioners in Malaysia held a protest outside the Chinese Embassy to protest the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for escalating the persecution of Falun Gong prior to the Beijing Olympic Games. The practitioners displayed banners which read "Falun Dafa is Good," "Strongly Protest the CCP for arresting Falun Gong practitioners prior to the 2008 Olympic Games," and "Immediately Release Practitioners Liu Guorong, Li Zhihong, and Zhang Guodong." In addition, after reading a protest letter, several practitioners testified to how the CCP is persecuting their family members in China. The 30-minute protest attracted reporters from many mainstream media outlets including the AP, AFP, and Australian Network.

Practitioner Xiaoyue Li emphasized that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) promised the world to improve its human rights record when it was applying to host the Olympic Games, and yet the CCP has used the Games as an excuse to arrest many Falun Gong practitioners.
Chinese student Jiajia narrated the plight of her family as her father Liu Gongrong and her mother Li Zhihong were illegally arrested in Changsha on March 25. She said: "No one knows the whereabouts of my parents since March 25."
Zhang Zijian gave another persecution account. Zhang said that his father Zhang Guodong was arrested on October 11, 2007. "Security officials not only unlawfully detained my father, they also forced my mother to move out of our home. When my mother tried to visit my father, she was told that family visits would be allowed only after the Olympic Games," said Zhang. "I hereby appeal to all kindhearted people to help us rescue Falun Gong practitioners detained in China and I also urge the CCP to release all the detained practitioners immediately."
