Recently, it was said that on the morning of December 10, 2008, under the supervision of personnel from the Hebei Province 610 Office and Police Department, officials from the Lubei District Court in Hebei Province brought practitioner Sun Fengli, who was arrested on July 10, 2008, to trial illegally.
Up until the time when the court session began, Mr. Sun had been detained in the Tangshan City No.1 Detention Center for five months. The period he was held in the detention center exceeded the time stipulated by Chinese law. Mr. Sun's parents hired two lawyers at the end of July. However, officials from the forced labor camp refused to meet Mr. Sun's lawyers with the excuse of "following their boss's orders."
