Dafa practitioners Ms. Shen Qingxiu, Ms. Shen Huoxiu, Ms. Tao Heying and Ms. Zhang Haiyu from Xingzi County, Jiangxi Province, have been detained since July 2008. In order to protest their illegal detention and the persecution carried out by the Xingzi County Police Station and Procuratorate, the practitioners have held a hunger strike since November 24. On November 27, police in the detention center informed their family members and claimed that they would force-feed the practitioners if they did not eat after two days.

As of now, there are still four practitioners being illegally detained in the Xingzi County Detention Center.
