(Clearwisdom.net) Beginning August 31, 2007, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit was held on four consecutive days in Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland. Mayors and business delegations from over 90 cities in the Asia-Pacific region gathered in downtown Brisbane for the meetings. Falun Gong practitioners in Queensland held banners outside the meeting venue, calling on the international community to extend their help to immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The banners and signs displaying messages about the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong formed a special scene, attracting passersby's attention.
One Falun Gong practitioner said: "We are outside the Brisbane City Hall, using banners to convey a message to the dignitaries from the Asia-Pacific region. The message is that the CCP has persecuted Falun Gong for eight years."
Another practitioner originally from China said: "Today is the Asia-Pacific Cities' Summit, and many Chinese delegations came to attend the meeting. We are here holding banners, and we want to call for an immediate end to the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners."
Passersby walked up to learn the facts about Falun Gong, and then signed the petition to stop the persecution on their own initiative.
One man said: "I really dare not believe that the (CCP) atrocity of harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners for profit exists in today's society!"
A man who was very sympathetic towards Falun Gong practitioners asked the practitioners if they knew many local celebrities and politicians. He said he wanted to visit those influential people, and tell them about the brutal persecution of Falun Gong.
Another resident said angrily, "The CCP must collapse!"
During the protest, the local university media came to the scene to learn the facts and interview practitioners.
Falun Gong practitioners did not leave until the meeting was over. They said that they intended to continuously inform the public about the persecution of Falun Gong until it ends.
