(Clearwisdom.net) On Saturday, September 1, 2007, the Melbourne Service Center for Quitting the CCP held a rally and parade at the City Square in downtown Melbourne during the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) meeting in Australia. The rally called on people to appeal to delegations from participating countries to join together to stop the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s abuse of human rights, one of the main themes of the event.
In China, hundreds of thousands of families are persecuted
Anti-torture exhibition exposes organ harvesting atrocities
Passersby touched when listening to truth-clarification
Young Chinese students learn the facts
People sign the petition calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong and support the human rights torch relay
People attentively listened to the speeches in the rally, read flyers and watched the parade of banners and anti-torture exhibition. A representative of the service center said that the flyers and Nine Commentaries on Communist Party were distributed quickly.
Chinese Woman Supports the Event
Ms. Lin has come to every rally like this one and often reads The Epoch Times and other journals exposing the CCP's corruption. She said, "In China, corrupt officials take hundreds of millions of yuan from the public, while the living cost increases. Peasants have a hard time to make a living. There will be social chaos this continues."
Two Girls from China Quit the CCP during the Event
Two Chinese girls who are high school students in Melbourne passed by the rally. When they asked about the reenactment of organ harvesting and torture, a volunteer explained to them about the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong, harvesting organs from living Falun gong practitioners, and its crimes in political movements after it took power. The two girls listened attentively to these facts that they had never heard in China. They quit the CCP's Youth League and Young Pioneers on the spot.
Another three people also quit the CCP, the Youth League and Young Pioneers during this event and one used his true name.
Driver of a Sight-Seeing Carriage: There's only one voice in China
Dean Crichton, a sight-seeing carriage driver, came to read the posters and listen to the speeches when he saw the rally across the street. He said he worked in Hong Kong for three months and saw large parades and service centers for quitting the CCP. He said that the situation for the people in China today is like his horse (eyes covered). They are prohibited to know sensitive information and can only hear one voice. He signed the petition supporting the human rights torch relay across the world and said he would do his best to spread this news.
"The CCP is constantly covering up the facts"
A woman residing in Melbourne was a student of Nankai University in Tianjin, China. She came to the rally venue to read the posters in the early morning and knew well the CCP's evil nature. She said, "I ran into several incidents in China. I saw that police took away those who unfurled banners on Tiananmen Square. I know what could happen to them. In another incident, six Japanese students had been ice skating on a lake at Nankai University, one fell through the ice and died. All of the reporters who came to cover the incident were prohibited to report it and all those who witnessed were not allowed to talk about it to "avoid affecting the Chinese-Japanese relationship." I also experienced drink poisoning and was rushed to a hospital. The government prohibited the media to report the incident. From all these incidents, one can imagine how many facts are covered up. The CCP doesn't think twice about lying to deceive people."
