(Clearwisdom.net) I was once "illegally detained" for three months. When I returned home at the beginning of 2002, my husband would always give me dirty looks and direct all his anger at me. He had been bearing a lot of hardships, both mentally and financially. I suffered a lot as well. My husband often beat me up simply because I continued to practice Falun Dafa and continued to talk to fellow practitioners. One time he took a mop and started to beat me so hard with it that the mop handle actually broke off on my head. Another time he grabbed a sandal and was slamming it so hard against my body that it broke upon impact as well. I got bruises and bumps all over my body and my head was constantly throbbing in pain.
I tried my best to clarify the truth to him. Other than that, I could only bear the sufferings with my courage. The environment with my family gradually improved. However, my husband didn't truly know or care to know the truth about Falun Dafa. Since there was nothing he could say or do to me that would change my determination in practicing Falun Dafa, he just passively accepted me as I am. Still, he would insult me, make fun of me and even would still beat me occasionally.
Soon afterwards, Teacher gave us the verses to send forth righteous thoughts. I did not send righteous thoughts directed toward my husband, however I always knew in my heart that people would be punished when doing bad things. Punishment is a way to stop people from doing bad things. It serves as a hint and acts as a warning that if they don't change their evil ways, bad things will continue to happen to them. Since I recognized the purpose of retribution, my husband received immediate retribution three times when he didn't respect the Fa and when he lost control of himself because of my perseverance in practicing Falun Dafa.
The first time it happened was when I came home late from another practitioner's house. My husband was at home waiting for me. He was cooking instant noodles and told me someone had called for me. I asked him if he was alright, and without looking at me he said he was fine. Suddenly, out of nowhere and and filled with so much rage and hatred, he completely lost his temper and started to scream and yell at me. He cursed the fellow practitioner's name with extremely dirty words. I didn't pay attention and calmly went to the other room to begin to send forth righteous thoughts directed to my husband.
As soon as he stopped yelling and screaming at me, he asked me to go to the store to buy some preserved vegetables for him. He didn't even sound that angry with me any more. I said, "No, I won't go. You always curse at me and hit me, Why should I go to the store for you?" I still sat there and sent forth righteous thoughts. He didn't say anything and came in and sat down with the bowl of noodles. Just when he was about to eat the noodles, he put down his chopsticks and stood up. Holding his cheeks, he cried, "Oh, my teeth hurt!" I still ignored him. He told me to go buy some medicine for him. I said, "Your teeth hurt because you always curse and scream at me as well as other practitioners. If you promise to not curse at practitioners anymore, I will go to the store and get the medicine for you. He knew he was wrong and he looked embarrassed. I took advantage of this opportunity and began to clarify the truth to him.
The second time it happened was when I was meditating at our house. He came home drunk that evening. When he saw me practicing the Dafa exercise, he came to me angrily and tried to take my legs down. I didn't allow him to do so, so he hit me. I than pushed him aside. Afterwards, he ended up going to bed and immediately feel asleep. At midnight, he woke me up. He was in tremendous pain and said his arms were really hurting and he was asking me why. I told him that it was because he had hit me. He didn't admit or act like he had even hit me. When he got up in the morning, his forearms were completely swollen. He was not able to use his arms and he even needed my help with putting on his clothes. He ended up taking medicine for several days. Again I explained to him the principle that good will be rewarded with good, and evil with evil.
The third time was a similar circumstance. He ended up hitting me once again. Before that, he hadn't hit me for quite a while except when he was drunk. The next morning, he passed a lot of blood in his stool when he went to the restroom. This never happened to him before. He was very scared and asked me what he should do. I said it happened because he kept hitting me. Of course, I never once had the thought of ever hating him. I just calmly told him that our Teacher was very benevolent towards him and therefore repeatedly gave him hints by punishing him when he did bad things. If he didn't change, he would become incorrigible, and then it would be too late even when he wanted to make a change. He said, "Well, what about those policemen? They hit you but they didn't get punished." I said, "In fact, many policemen have received retribution. However, they didn't realize that many 'accidents' are actually punishment, just like you didn't. Besides, you wouldn't know whether and when they got punished."
From then on, he changed a lot and he's getting better and better. Our benevolent Teacher has saved him.
Another thing made my husband truly think about how magnificent Falun Dafa really is.
It was the summer of 2002, at about 10 p.m., my husband came home drunk once again. However, when he walked in he said he was just in a car accident and his car was in a ditch. I asked him where it happened, but he couldn't remember. He then went to the restroom but fell down in the toilet and his clothes got wet. I helped get him out but he was so drunk that he couldn't talk to me. I had to call his friends to find out where he went to that night and with whom. I managed to figure out where the car could possibly be. I called a friend to help me look for the car. We ended up finding it very easily. It was in a ditch about two miles away from our home.
I found out that my husband was so drunk that he couldn't remember his way back home. He ended up passing our house and went off the road thinking it was our driveway and ended up in the ditch. There was a tree in the ditch about ten inches wide, and the wall of a factory was on the far side. My husband drove into the tree so fast and hard that he pulled all the roots of the tree out of the ground, completely knocking the tree over. The car was only one inch away from the wall and there was dirt all over the place. We couldn't understand how my husband got out of the car without any injuries. I realized that Teacher had saved him once again. I sincerely thank Teacher for the great benevolent compassion that He has shown to my husband. People who were passing by all stopped and asked, "How's the driver?" I answered, "He is fine. He doesn't even have one single injury at all."
A friend of my husband jokingly said, "It was so close! Truly unbelievable! It must be because she does those exercises everyday." He mimicked me practicing the Holding the Wheel exercise. "That's why Buddha saved you." I said seriously, "Indeed. It was because my Teacher protected him that he didn't get hurt."
Recently, quite a few fellow practitioners in our area were illegally arrested. Dozens of our local practitioners are illegally detained at a detention center as well. I've been reading the articles published on the Clearwisdom website calling to completely stop the persecution. We have been exposing the evil, eliminating the evil, clarifying the truth, saving sentient beings, and rescuing our fellow practitioners. Suddenly, I came to realize that we should apply the principle of "immediate retribution in this lifetime" to all the malicious people who are actively participating in the persecution. They should receive "immediate retribution" to stop them from persecuting Falun Dafa and Dafa practitioners. When more cases of "immediate retribution" started to arise , it was seen as a warning to those who are involved in the persecution. They will have to think about what they've been doing and hopefully they'll stop committing crimes against the Fa. This will give other people an opportunity to believe in the power of the Fa so they too will help take a stand and help validate the Fa as well. Once they see the truth, they will have great respect for Teacher and Falun Dafa practitioners. "Immediate retribution" doesn't only mean that bad people will be punished; it also means that good people will be rewarded. Therefore, those people who have been supporting Dafa and practitioners will be rewarded with good returns. The more people that know how magnificent and how powerful the Fa is, the less likely people will not dare to slander Falun Dafa and our beloved Teacher. This will be a very effective way to save more sentient beings.
Teacher said in his article "Stop the evil acts with righteous thoughts" which was published on February 5 2004,
"If the wicked policemen and the bad people can't be dissuaded and persist in doing evil, you can stop them with righteous thoughts."
Teacher also said in this article,
"These righteous thoughts are to stop wicked people from doing evil, to warn other bad people, and to prevent the world's people from committing sins, and their purpose is still to save all beings."
The persecution has been going on for eight years. Many bad policemen are well aware of the truth of Falun Dafa, they know practitioners are good people. However, they are not willing to get rid of the evil Chinese Communist Party's influence and control, due to their pursuing fame or physical and material interests. Therefore, they still actively participate in the persecution. As Falun Dafa disciples, we should apply the principle of "immediate retribution" to them. Meanwhile, we should transfer all of the suffering that the practitioners and their families have been bearing to those malicious policemen.
Of course, we should not get attached to this approach. This is a divine power that Teacher has empowered us with. This is for us to practice using the principles of the Fa at will.
The above is my personal understanding of the principle of "immediate retribution" that Teacher explained to us. Please correct me if I said anything inappropriate.
