(Clearwisdom.net) The "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" International Art Exhibition opened to the public at the Confucius Gallery at noon, September 21. The exhibition coincided with a large community event held in the same building. Several hundred people from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong viewed the exhibition on the first day.
An exhibit guest speaks gave a speech at the opening ceremony of the exhibit
Ms. Hongliu Wu, organizer of the exhibition, said, "The mission of the exhibition is to showcase the beauty of Falun Dafa and expose the brutal persecution of the practice in China. The exhibition has been held in more than 200 venues around the world and received countless glowing reviews. While touched by the beauty of Falun Dafa, exhibition viewers were also shocked by the brutality of the persecution. Unfortunately, there are still practitioners being arrested, tortured, or even murdered daily in China. Moreover, the appalling atrocities of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners are still happening. Therefore, the goal of this exhibition is to let more people know the facts of the persecution so that the persecution can be soon stopped."
At the opening ceremony, renowned publisher Mr. Huang Yuzhen gave a congratulatory speech. Mr. Huang is 90 years old and a columnist for the Epoch Times. He said: "The exhibition offers a great opportunity for Chinese people to learn about Falun Gong. We live in the US and have the freedom to learn about real stories of Falun Gong practitioners from different channels. In the past 8 years, I have been closely watching Falun Gong as a group. The propaganda used by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to justify its persecution policy consists of lies and it is against Chinese culture and immoral. The CCP's persecution of Falun Gong has clearly shown the world that the CCP is an evil cult. The past eight years have also told us that Falun Gong is the only hope for the future of China."
Several practitioners also shared their personal experiences with Falun Dafa: Practitioner Wang Huimin used her personal experience in China to expose the brutal persecution and urged all kindhearted people to take actions to help end the persecution. Artist Xiao Ping shared how her cultivation of Falun Dafa helped her improve her understanding in painting.
After the ceremony, Chinese viewers come to appreciate the exhibition in an endless stream. A gentleman whose last name is Shao said: "I have lived in the US for more than 50 years, and I never believed in any of the CCP's lies because my grandfather was brutally persecuted by the CCP. From the exhibition, I am very touched by the great efforts made by Falun Gong practitioners to resist the persecution. I want to do something to help them."
Mr. Zhu from Hong Kong said that he had seen the exhibition elsewhere and learned the Falun Gong exercises. "I am here to support you," he said.
A senior who just came from Mainland China to visit his adult child said: "The exhibition is very good. The 'Homeless Child' impressed me the most."
The art exhibition will last five days and is sponsored by the Falun Dafa Association and Falun Dafa Practitioners Art Center. The exhibition has been held in many other prominent venues in New York City, including the National Arts Club and the Manhattan Federal Building.
