(Clearwisdom.net) I am a college student, and I am not able to do the Falun Gong exercises regularly until summer vacation. However, doing the exercises in the early morning is very difficult for me since I like to sleep in late. I have tried hard not to go to bed until after sending forth righteous thoughts at midnight. I would then feel very sleepy when I get up early in the morning. Sometimes I even had dreams while I was doing the exercises. I thought that doing the exercises in the early morning would break up my regular sleeping schedule and cause me to be lethargic. Even though I had this thought, I persisted in doing the early morning exercises because I knew that was the right thing to do. However, I was interfered with by this human notion, so I frequently felt sleepy while doing the exercises. However, I felt full of energy for the rest of the day and while sending forth righteous thoughts at midnight.
One morning I overslept and failed to do the exercises. Once I let myself go, I overslept the next morning, too. Even though I was upset with myself, I said to myself subconsciously that I had enough sleep this time and that it had been a long time since I had slept till the sun came up. When I sent forth righteous thoughts later that day, I felt an obvious lack of energy. My whole body was tired. The fatigue I felt was not a normal kind of fatigue--it felt as if every cell in my body could not stay alert and focused. I immediately realized that a "regular" sleeping schedule is for ordinary people, and that is not the best way for a practitioner to rest. Only by doing the exercises could I solve the fundamental problem.
This is my understanding, and I wanted to share it with fellow practitioners who might also be interfered with by this human notion and help them to overcome it.
