(Clearwisdom.net) At 9:40 a.m. on August 9, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Gao Yunxia from Changshou District, Chongqing City was taken by police from a detention center to a small courtroom on the second floor of the Changshou District Court building for an illegal trial. The court announcement said it was an open trial, therefore Ms. Gao Yunxia's family and friends were seated in the courtroom. The court then required that all persons in the court turn off their cell phones. The judge also announced that the audience could not talk or ask questions. Five minutes later, the court suddenly declared its verdict to everyone, except two who were cleared from the courtroom. Ms. Gao's relatives protested, but their efforts were futile. Soon after, only her husband and son stayed and listened to the trial.
The prosecution had no physical evidence at all for what Ms. Gao was accused of. It was not a "trial" at all. Rather, it was a show trial. One peculiar sighting: there was a woman with an unknown identity seated in the courtroom from the beginning to the end. She was neither court staff, nor Ms. Gao's friend or relative.
On April 25, 2007, practitioner Ms. Gao Yunxia, 43, was illegally arrested by police from the Duzhou Police Station in Changshou District while working at the Taohuaxinchang Neighborhood in Changshou District. That afternoon, the police broke into Ms. Gao's home and ransacked the house. They even wrenched off the ceiling. However, they did not find any truth-clarification materials there. Just like bandits, the police took away whatever they wanted, including cigarettes. The police scrambled with Ms. Gao's mother-in-law for her retirement cash deposit card. They stopped when Ms. Gao's brother scolded them loudly over their criminal behavior and returned the deposit card. But they still took away more than ten thousand yuan in cash that Ms. Gao's sisters put together as college tuition for her son and payment for her retirement insurance. The computer that Ms. Gao's sisters bought for her son for his studies was also stolen.
Ms. Gao Yunxia was a cadre at the Changshou District Food Bureau. She was honest, kind, and hardworking. She had won many awards from the Food Bureau. Following the principles of "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance," she kept improving her moral standards toward unselfishness. However, such a good person was brutally tortured by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) staff after the CCP started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. She was illegally imprisoned twice, extorted for five thousand yuan and imprisoned at the Changshou District Detention Center for a year after being illegally arrested in October 2000. At the detention center, she was savagely tortured. She was put in handcuffs, foot shackles, forced to sit on a chair for a long time and forced to sleep on a "Dead Person's Bed" (details can be found at http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/12/15/55600.html). She was also force-fed with a tube, gagged with a dirty cloth, and beaten. When her family visited her, her hand was so cold and swollen that she could not even make a fist, as the result of being hand cuffed for too long. She could not walk or speak normally. Ms. Gao was illegally sentenced to five years in prison and taken to the Chongqing City Yongchuan Women's Prison for torture. The torture turned all of her hair white and left injuries all over her body. The guards at that prison did not allow her to eat, drink, or go to bathroom. The guards also frequently whipped her and tightened her hands with a thin rope.
On April 25, 2007, Ms. Gao Yunxia was arrested again and imprisoned at the Changshou District Detention Center. On August 9, 2007, she was illegally tried.
At 9:30 a.m. on July 11, 2007, practitioner Ms. Yang Shuqiong from Changshou District was illegally sentenced. At 2:30 p.m. on August 7, 2007, practitioner Ms. Yu Xiurong was illegally sentenced for three and half years in prison. To all just people both inside and outside of China, please help to release these innocently detained practitioners.
