(Clearwisdom.net) From September 6 to 8, 2007, the World Economic Forum (WEF) will hold the Inaugural Annual Meeting of the New Champions at Dalian City, Liaoning Province, China. This is the first time that the WEF will hold its "Summer Davos" meeting outside of Switzerland since it was founded 37 years ago. To date, more than 1,200 business leaders, economists, and political figures from 88 countries have registered. The annual meeting will include three parts: Annual Young Global Leaders Summit, Informal Ministerial Meeting, and 60 sessions with special topics.
WEF, an independent international forum for political, business, and other leaders, is headquartered in Davos, Switzerland, a small town located in Grisons, near Austria. WEF is the major income provider for Davos. Its Winter Annual Meeting is held in Davos. Professor Klaus Schwab is the founder and executive chairman of WEF.
According to Dalian media, everyone from the Chairman to the staff of the WEF is very enthusiastic about and interested in Dalian and China.
For this meeting, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) put together a team of over seven thousand police officers and spies. Since 2007, the CCP has intensified its efforts to arrest and persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. At least 105 practitioners were illegally arrested from January to July 2007.
Because of this, I recommend that European practitioners take this "Summer Davos" opportunity to clarify the truth to WEF and expose the CCP's increased persecution against practitioners before the WEF meeting in Dalian. We hope that they can understand the truth, express their concerns about the persecution of practitioners, and ask that the CCP release practitioners immediately. On the other hand, we should also expose to the WEF the dark side of China's economy. During the "Winter Davos" in January 2007, some participants raised negative factors about China's economic growth, such as the impact on scarce world resources, the environment, and climate.
Information detailing "Summer Davos" can be found on the Internet. The following articles are related to stopping the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners: "Appealing to 'Davos:' Do not to Bring Human Rights Disaster to Dalian" (an article in Chinese only at: http://minghui.org/mh/articles/2007/7/11/158637.html) and "Open Letter to Professor Schwab, the Founder of Davos World Economic Forum" (an article in Chinese only at: http://minghui.org/mh/articles/2007/8/7/160298.html). The following articles expose the dark side of China's economy: "Falun Gong Practitioners Bought and Sold for Use as Free Labor (Part 1) (Photos)" at http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2007/8/4/88301.html and "'Made in China' --the Truth about the Secret Factories in Chinese Prisons (Part 2) (Photos) at http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2007/8/5/88332.html.
I am making this suggestion because the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners has accelerated in Dalian and also because this is a good opportunity to clarify the truth to economists and business leaders from around the world. I hope our fellow European practitioners consider my suggestion.
