(Clearwisdom.net) Recently there have been some issues in Fa-study groups in some areas. For example, when some of the older practitioners read a little more slowly than the younger practitioners or stutter, the coordinators have simply stopped them and asked others to continue instead. When a study group is composed of nearly all elderly practitioners, some younger practitioners say, "Let me read and you just listen."
As a matter of fact, older practitioners are just as eager to read aloud Master's teachings as the rest of us. After one such incident, an elderly practitioner even slapped his own face because he was unhappy with his own slowness. He is not satisfied with his inability to read the Fa with other practitioners. Some of the older practitioners commented, "Indeed he reads better, but he reads too fast for me to keep up." Because of these ongoing problems in group study some elderly practitioners do not like to participate anymore.
Dear fellow practitioners, we are all Master's disciples. Practicing "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," we as practitioners must think about other people first whenever we do anything. When you stop someone from reading the Fa, don't you know how badly you hurt that person?
When some practitioners fell asleep during Fa-study, someone pointed out that one shouldn't do that. Another person countered, "Let him sleep. He must be tired because he was too busy last night or slept too little." If he really did not sleep well, why did he come to group study?
Despite the safety issue repeatedly stressed on the Clearwisdom website, some practitioners still do not pay attention to it. In some Fa-study groups, many practitioners keep their batteries in their cellphones. When the issue was pointed out, some replied, "With our righteous thoughts and righteous actions we'll be fine."
As the Fa-rectification progresses towards the end, we must be more and more diligent in cultivation practice and set higher and higher standards for ourselves. We must pay attention to safety, and be rational, alert, and mature so that no evil can exploit our loopholes. The evils are struggling now. In addition, we must let go of our attachments to ourselves. We must not discriminate against older practitioners or create gaps between practitioners. It is every practitioner's mission to validate the Fa. Each of our words and acts is to validate the Fa rather than ourselves. With the same approach but a different goal, the results can be totally different.
Above is my personal experience. Please kindly point out anything improper.
