(Clearwisdom.net) On July 12, the Toronto-based Lotus Performing Arts Troupe was invited by the Carefree Lodge Senior Home in North York to perform for the seniors. Their performance was welcomed by the seniors and received high remarks. The performance group was established five years ago by Toronto practitioners and has grown into a popular performing arts troupe in the largest Canadian city. Since early this summer, the troupe has been performing every weekend, bringing different communities the joy and beauty of Falun Dafa.

At the Carefree Lodge Senior Home, the troupe members performed lion dance, waist drum, martial arts and several traditional Chinese dances. In addition, they also demonstrated the five Falun Gong exercises.
The performance was well-received. Ben is in his nineties and is a musician. He told the reporter that his daughter is also a dancer. He said that the troupe's performance was great and he in particular loved the beautiful dances and music.
Besides the performance, the troupe also brought the seniors delicate hand-made lotus flowers as mementos. Many seniors said that they wanted to learn the Falun Gong exercises at the center.
The Lotus Performing Arts Troupe is a member of the Community Folk Art Council of Toronto (CFAC). Wendy Limbertie, director of CFAC, said that the council members participate in all kinds of community events and the Lotus Performing Arts Troupe's visit was to serve these seniors with their interest in Chinese cultural performance.
