San Francisco: Grand Rally Held to Call for an End to Eight-Year-Long Persecution (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 14, 2007, Falun Gong practitioners and many supporters in the San Francisco Bay Area held a rally in Chinatown to call on all circles to stop the eight-year-long persecution of Falun Gong. The rally also voiced support for twenty-three million Chinese people quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The Mayor of the city of Albany in the San Francisco area wrote to support the practitioners and condemn the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong. Many visitors signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution after learning that Falun Gong practitioners are brutally tortured in China for living by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Taiwan's President Chen Shui-bian Meets With Falun Gong Practitioners to Discuss the Hong Kong Deportation Incident

(Clearwisdom.net) At 4 p.m. on July 12, Taiwan's president Chen Shui-bian met with several representatives of Falun Gong, including Taiwan Falun Dafa Association president Ching-hsi Chang, Taiwan University professor Chu-cheng Ming, human rights lawyer Theresa Chu, and Sound of Hope reporter Shu-hui Liao. The meeting was held to discuss an incident which happened in late June, when about 500 Taiwanese practitioners were treated inhumanely and deported by the Hong Kong authorities after they flew to Hong Kong to participate in human rights activities.
