1) Experiences doing the Three Things
I would like to share my own experiences during my effort of clarifying the facts through the internet and my personal cultivation. Before I became a practitioner, I suffered from poor health. Despite my frequent visits to the hospital, my energy level and mood was always low and I looked pale all the time. After I began practicing Falun Gong, my health was completely restored. I no longer need my medical insurance card. Words cannot describe my joy and gratitude to Master. I want to thank Master for His compassionate salvation. This gratitude has allowed me to leave fame, self-interest and sentimentality behind. Master saved me from a troubled life.
Soon after I became a practitioner, I got involved in group Fa study and experience sharing with fellow practitioners. I realized that I have a mission to accomplish as a Falun Gong practitioner in the Fa-rectification period. There are many ways to validate the Fa. Computer forum discussion is an easy avenue for me. Whenever I have time, I can post truth-clarifying articles onto the internet. This was something I wanted to do to help save people. Soon after I started, I found myself spending more and more time telling people the facts on the internet. Once after an online experience-sharing discussion, a fellow practitioner called me and suggested that I coordinate the effort in our local area. I thought that it was a good idea and I became a coordinator.
Immediately after I accepted the position, I faced many tribulations. The internet connection broke down frequently and the performance was very slow. This interference bothered me greatly, I felt tired and sleepy. I began to think that I was not a good cultivator, and I was slacking off more and more. I realized that after I began to post articles onto the internet, my life became chaotic. But at the same time, I would remember how the older practitioners learned to use the computer. They wrote down all the steps during the class and followed these steps when they used a computer at home. They knew nothing about computers and had a hard time learning. A seemingly simple step turned out to be very difficult for them. But they did not become discouraged. They still invested a great deal of time on their computers every day. Gradually, they became better and better. I told myself: I am a Falun Gong practitioner; I cannot give up. My difficulties were an indication of an omission. I realized I must spend more time studying the Fa and doing the three things well. I often remind myself with Master's words:
"Unless you, yourself do not want to do so, you can make it, provided you want to overcome them." ("Lecture Four," Zhuan Falun, 2000 translation version)
Clarifying the facts on the internet is an effective way to help save people. Using a computer, I can pass the "quitting the CCP (Chinese Communist Party)" information on to many people in China thousands of miles away. There is no need to buy an airplane ticket and no need to apply for a visa. Many people have viewed the Falun Gong videos. It is indeed a good way to offer salvation to people. Master said:
"People with predestined relationships and those who can be saved can be made to--made to by Master's Law Bodies, righteous gods, or the immense field that Dafa has formed in the world--appear right before you in any of a range of settings, providing them with a chance to learn the truth. But you have to carry it out, and it doesn't work if you're not out there doing things." ("Teaching the Fa at the Fa Conference at the U.S. Capital," 2006)
I appeal to more practitioners to participate in the effort of helping to save more people by encouraging them to quit the CCP.
Most Chinese people have significant historical backgrounds and may represent many reincarnated beings from the origin of the cosmos. If we fail to help save them, these people cannot return to their heavenly homes. I suggest that those who got involved recently not get discouraged by the apparent difficulties they come across. By giving it some time and patience, and by looking at these efforts with righteous thoughts, we will certainly save more people.
Master said,
"The fact is, those who can't step forward, regardless of the excuse, are concealing fear. Yet for cultivators, fear or lack thereof proves [one's] humanity or divinity, and it is what differentiates cultivators from ordinary people. It is something that a cultivator must face, and the biggest human attachment that a cultivator must remove." ( "Study the Fa Well, and Getting Rid of Attachments is Not Hard")
After reading this paragraph, I began to spend more time reading Falun Gong books. The Fa can break through all kinds of attachments. Finally, I was able to put down my own attachment to fear.
Master told us that we should pay special attention to three things: studying the Fa, sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the facts. On the surface, there are three separate things, but they are related to each other. I realized that, when we are in good cultivation states, it must be because we have studied the Fa diligently. If we remember the Fa all the time, our righteous thoughts will be strong, our tests will be easy to pass, and we will be more successful in clarifying the facts. When our minds are not stable, a slight omission will become a big loophole caused by our human mentality. The demons will seize the opportunity and cause harm to our cultivation state. Just as Master said,
"You should cherish this predestined chance. There really won't be a next time. In the future you'll see the terrifying image of the Fa-rectification that lies in history's past. Some Dafa disciples really have performed poorly -- one moment they were doing quite well and the next they weren't. Actually, even when gigantic cosmic beings witnessed the power of Fa-rectification they were truly shocked." (Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference)
The sentence "one moment they were doing quite well and the next they weren't" touched me deeply. I was like that. In the future, I will measure myself with stricter rules and reach the standard of a cultivator. Then I can do everything well.
Clarifying the facts on the internet is not that hard. All you need to learn is how to copy and paste text. But not many people can dedicate themselves to this task. Some practitioners learned how to do it and later dropped-out. It's really a pity. I hope we can all cherish this unprecedented historical moment, give our best effort to become diligent practitioners, save more sentient beings and fulfill the remaining part of our cultivation path.
2) Cultivation and Coordination
Although I served as a coordinator for a while, there were reasons, including my own laziness and other notions; the effect of our effort was limited. This was despite the fact that many practitioners were involved in posting articles. Recently, practitioners from other cities organized several training sessions, which helped our forum activities improve a great deal. I appeal to other capable practitioners to share their experiences with each other. That way we can all find our own shortcomings and help more people to improve. As those that are new to the computer learn the technique to clarify the facts, this will improve their efficiency. More people in China will come to know the truth and quit their affiliation with the CCP.
Usually, the computer savvy practitioners tend to focus on specific details and lose sight of the big picture. I also have that problem. When I was successfully posting articles, I would feel complacent. But when I encountered computer errors at the last moment, my attachment to results would emerge and I tended to become impatient. I often forgot to stop and study the Fa and I treated these problems as a technical issue. To people in society, this thinking is not wrong. But to a cultivator, this error is usually due to our own unstable and impure heart. A cultivator's intentions and goals are different from other people. If these intentions and goals are not pure, our strong attachments will make our work unnecessarily hard.
When we deal with every detail using a pure state of mind, in our effort to clarify the truth on the internet, our work will then become smooth and successful. Our effort will have a very positive impact on people in mainland China. I think that our messages posted on the web are like angels who travel far away to save people. But regrettably after some time, our effort will inevitably slack off. I believe that our determination is a very important factor affecting the ultimate outcome. On the other hand, if we cannot achieve our purpose of saving people, then we probably still have loopholes to uncover during this effort.
Master told us:
"The old forces don't dare to oppose our clarifying the truth or saving sentient beings. What's key is to not let them take advantage of the gaps in your state of mind when you do things." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston")
When we work on something that we are supposed to do, and if we are in a pure state of mind, then we will certainly achieve good results. Our efforts will be handsomely rewarded.
