(Clearwisdom.net) On May 16, 2007 a public prosecutor named Shi from the Liaoyang City Procuratorate in Liaoning Province advised Chen Minhui's family to hire an attorney. On May 22 the attorney hired by the family went to see Chen Minhui in the detention center and found he was extremely weak. His leg was broken and he was in a lot of pain.

Mr. Chen Minhui is 53 years old and lives on Nansha Street, Shahekou District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. Before he learned Falun Dafa he suffered numbness on the left side of his body and withering gastritis. After he began the practice in 1998 his health completely recovered. Chen Minhui's job was repairing electrical appliances. He observed the principles of "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance" and improved his moral character. He charged a reasonable fee for his services and worked responsibly for his clients. Everyone he met knew he was a good person who cultivated "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance."

In 2003, Chen Minhui fell from the bicycle he was riding, causing multiple fractures to his left femur. By studying the Fa and practicing the Falun Gong exercises he recovered very quickly. On June 5, 2003 Chen Minhui was reported to the authorities while he was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to people. In order to avoid persecution he left home and became destitute and homeless.

On September 21, 2005 Chen Minhui was illegally arrested in Jinzhou district in Dalian City by undercover agent Xu and others from the Dalian City National Security Bureau. He was detained at the National Security Bureau located at Xiaobailou, Youjia Village, Xinzhaizi Town, Dalian City. During the detention, undercover agents threatened and attempted to persuade him to give information to aid them in the arrest of Yang Benliang, another practitioner. The agents promised him many benefits, including providing him with more than 2,000 yuan per month and assigning him a stall for his appliance repair service. At the time Chen Minhui's health was in a critical condition. The agents were afraid that he would die in their custody so they asked Mr. Chen to call his wife and get her to pay 10,000 "yuan" to bail him out. Chen Minhui refused.

On the morning of September 24, Chen Minhui escaped from the National Security Bureau. Undercover agents assigned many police officers to block the main intersection. They also broke into a Falun Dafa practitioner's home with the excuse that they were attempting to apprehend a fugitive. They sent police to watch Cheng Minhui's home 24 hours a day. Later they went to Mr. Chen's hometown of Wafangdian to search, but they couldn't find him.

On the morning of September 25, the Dalian City Police and the National Security Bureau arrested Chen Minhui's wife on her way to work. Officers dragged her into a vehicle and drove to Chen Minhui's home, which they illegally confiscated. The police took electrical appliance components and a light bulb as part of their supposed investigation.

From then on the police kept Chen Minhui's home under constant surveillance, and followed and harassed his family and their co-workers at the office. All this was a tremendous burden on Mr. Chen's family.

On February 7, 2007 the Dalian City National Security Bureau and Dalian City National Security Team arrested Chen Minhui in Shihe Town. Nobody knew where he was after that. When Chen's family learned of his arrest they went repeatedly to the Dalian City National Security Bureau asking to see him, but officers there endlessly dodged them and gave them no information as to Mr. Chen's whereabouts.

Due to the Chen family's unceasing inquiry, someone at the National Security Bureau told them that the Liaoyang City Police had arrested Chen Minhui. They went to the Liaoyang City Police Department and found National Security Team leader Wang. Wang told them that Mr. Chen was detained there, but he couldn't allow them to see him. Wang told Mr. Chen's family to wait for two or three months. Mr. Chen's family asked what crime he had committed. Wang said that Mr. Chen passed out truth-clarifying materials and was also involved in some other cases. He then told Chen Minhui's family to leave.

The Liaoyang City Police Department has already illegally detained Chen Minhui for more than four months. The police have been constantly striving to induce or extort a confession from him and are attempting to link him with TV Truth-broadcasting in order to charge him. Mr. Chen's family went to the Liaoyang City Detention Center to bring him clothes, but the police refused to allow it.
