(Clearwisdom.net) On May 1st, Labor Day, a rally, "May 1st Without Communism," took place in the Czech capital of Prague. The intention of the event was to expose the real nature of the world's communist regimes. The Confederation of Political Prisoners and a "T-shirt Against Communism" initiative were features of the rally. Falun Gong practitioners were invited to set up a "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibition" there. The artists of the exhibition are accomplished painters from different countries, who were, in some cases; themselves victims of the persecution of the spiritual practice of Falun Gong in China.
The exhibition was divided into several parts which depict not only the beauty of the meditation practice, but also the brutal nature of the ongoing persecution by the Chinese Communist Party. The paintings portray very realistically some of the torture methods used on Falun Gong practitioners in the Chinese labor camps and prisons.
Many people were deeply moved by the paintings. Some couldn't believe at first that such torture is still happening in today's world and very often compared the scenes with the fascists' practices in German concentration camps years ago.
Two elderly ladies were telling their stories of being imprisoned during communist rule in the former Czechoslovakia. One of them said, "I was only imprisoned, but she (the other lady) was beaten all the time. One time they stripped her naked and were going to rape her, but she was struggling so they beat her instead." The elderly women also said they don't even need to go to China to know how evil Communism is, as it existed in Czechoslovakia also. They were very thankful that people are putting in such efforts to show Communism for what it really is.
Two important foreign guests also visited the exhibition -- Mr. David Kilgour, human rights defender and author of a report about forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners in China, and Zhao Ming, a former college student from Ireland, who was imprisoned in a Chinese labor camp for two years because he appealed for justice for Falun Gong in China.
The art exhibition was surrounded by a quiet and solemn atmosphere, conveying deep sympathy towards those who have been tortured to death.
