(Clearwisdom.net) I understand that to write down my cultivation experiences in the Fa-rectification period is to reflect upon my cultivation experiences until this point in time. I would also like to take this opportunity to share stories of many sentient being saved by our revered Teacher. May we encourage each other to validate the Fa, save sentient beings and fulfill our prehistoric grand pledges.
1. The Fa Gave Me a New Life
I am a nurse at the internal medicine department of a hospital in China. In October 1997, I was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and cardiac arrhythmia. I was admitted to the hospital. I suffered from pressure in my chest. The pain was unbearable. I was given medication and injections daily, but nothing helped. I saw every available expert and professor, but no one could treat my illness. For a problem in one blood vessel, nurses would give me as many as seven injections. Once my heartbeat went up to 160 and I was near death. My colleagues were in tears while trying to keep me from dying. My husband was crying at my death bed. The chairman of the department felt weak in his knees and collapsed. I survived because of emergency resuscitation. My heart rate went down to 120-140. However, I continued to live in agony. I could not even lay down on my back.
Several times I gave up all medical treatments because already more than two months had gone by since the first treatment. I refused to take any more injections. My mother-in-law sat on the floor in despair with my three-year-old daughter. My husband took days off from work to keep me company and begged me to continue with the medical treatments. He begged me to fight for my life. Thus, I stayed in the hospital and continued another month of injections. My condition finally improved, so I was released from the hospital. In less than 30 minutes after I arrived home, my parents-in-law and my husband brought home a feng shui master, but the change of feng shui did not make me any healthier.
While I was struggling to survive, a younger cousin visited me and gave me Zhuan Falun. It was a divine book that saved my life. The first time I read Zhuan Falun, I could not put it down. Before I realized it, I had spent an entire morning sitting on the bed reading Zhuan Falun. That afternoon, I miraculously got out of bed and even washed two bed sheets. When my mother-in-law found me doing the laundry, she thought I had planned to kill myself with physical work, so she forced me to go back to bed. But I really felt no pressure in my chest. During the the next ten days, my illness acted up twice. In hindsight, I know Teacher was cleansing my body, but I had to endure a small portion of my karma.
Ten days later, my illness disappeared without a trace. When I went back to the hospital and asked to go back to work, the chairman and all the fellow nurses were astonished. They insisted on performing an E.C.G on me. The result proved that I was in perfect health condition. They had no choice but to admit that Falun Gong is good.
2. My Life Came for the Fa; My Mission is to Save Sentient Beings
Due to the influence of 100 million Falun Gong practitioners in China, the moral values in China were being gradually restored. Peace-loving Falun Gong practitioners were seen all over China, in urban and rural areas before the persecution began in 1999.
But China was suddenly under an overcast sky with heavy, ghastly clouds. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) put a bounty on my revered Teacher and hunted down Falun Gong practitioners throughout China. I was shocked. I wanted to shout, "What is wrong with this government? What is wrong with this society? What's wrong with following Falun Gong's principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance?" Because I still had hope for the CCP government at the time, I decided to drop everything and go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. After I took off, my parents-in-law, my husband, my child, my bosses and my colleagues were looking for me everywhere. Finally they found me in Beijing. Among a large number of Falun Gong practitioners traveling to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, they identified me and took me to a hotel/detention center. These were the words they told me: "Are you trying to get yourself killed? A wise man will avoid imminent disadvantages. How can a puny citizen like you fight against the will of the CCP?" In return, I questioned them, "What did I do wrong? It is my constitutional right to appeal to the State Appeals Office." When I returned to work, my bosses would not allow me to take any vacation days. My bosses had me monitored at work and suspended my salary. They also forced me to promise in writing to stop practicing Falun Gong and then took me to a brainwashing center. Since then, I was met with sneers, the cold shoulder and discrimination at work. I tried my best to conduct myself according to Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance. Others may choose to treat me badly, but I, as a Falun Gong cultivator, must not take revenge or treat others badly. Under my influence, many of my colleagues improved their attitudes.
As a nurse, I look after invalids. After chatting with me, the patients learned how I started practicing Falun Gong and learned important facts about Falun Gong. Especially after the Epoch Times published the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party (Nine Commentaries for short), I grasped every opportunity at work to introduce the Nine Commentaries to my colleagues and patients. I told people facts about Falun Gong, facts about the persecution of Falun Gong and facts about the CCP. I persuaded people to withdraw from the CCP, as well as the CCP Youth League and Young Pioneers League. First, doctors, nurses and cleaning staff learned that Falun Gong is good through me. They learned that the so-called self-immolation at Tiananmen Square was staged and meant to incite people's hatred for Falun Gong. I told them that withdrawing from the CCP and its affiliated organizations will keep them from the same doom that would ultimately befall the CCP. Many of my colleagues agreed to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. I often distributed Falun Gong truth-clarification materials to patients' beds. Patients read the Nine Commentaries and truth-clarification materials while they were getting I.V. fluids. Patients sometimes discussed the evil CCP with each other. Because I often discussed the CCP with everyone, one person after another agreed to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Teacher said,
"So long as you, a Dafa disciple, do things righteously, you will transform the environment around you, and you will change people." ("Teaching the Fa in San Francisco, 2005 (Lecture and Q&A)")
A prison management staffer diagnosed with leukemia was admitted to the internal medicine section at my hospital. At first, he did not respond well when I told him the facts about Falun Gong. The second time I entered his ward, he invited me to sit down and chat. This time he was receptive to the facts about Falun Gong.
Before this chat, he had been suffering from a high fever. His doctor was unable to stop the fever with any medicine. After he listened to the facts about Falun Gong and accepted a Falun Gong amulet, his body temperature went down to normal miraculously. Later, he had another fever and became semi-unconscious. He felt something rotating in front of his eyes. When he opened his eyes he asked to have a Falun Gong amulet. After he understood and accepted the facts about Falun Gong, he decided to withdraw from the CCP. He even asked to learn Falun Gong. Once, when his leukemia acted up, he held a copy of Zhuan Falun in his arms and said, "It feels good." He obtained the Fa and was released from the hospital.
Teacher said:
"[...] each Dafa disciple has to fully play his role and proactively do what he should as a Dafa disciple. As you go about validating the Fa, whatever you think of, see, encounter, or can recognize, go ahead and do it, and only then are you walking your own path and forging your own mighty-virtue. Isn't that how it works?" ("Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Students")
My patients come from different social strata. The hospital I work at is the largest in the city. Mid-level and high-level government officials from the city committee and the city government are often admitted to this hospital. In China, rich and powerful people are less likely to have an opportunity to learn the facts about Falun Gong. Even if they have such a chance, they tend to be less receptive. Falun Gong practitioners do not judge people by their economic status or social standing. We care only about saving people. Once, a government official from the city committee was admitted. I weighed the risk and finally mustered my courage to step into his room. After a brief chat, I changed the subject to Falun Gong. "I have some things I would like to say to you, but I find it difficult to tell you. Today, I finally have the courage to tell you." He gave me permission to continue, so I began to tell him important facts about Falun Gong. I told him about my illness and my miraculous recovery after I started practicing Falun Gong. I explained to him about the staged self-immolation at Tiananmen Square. He was all ears. He did not say or ask anything, but I felt he was really listening. Shortly after he was released from the hospital, one of his staff members came and asked for a copy of Zhuan Falun.
A young man in his 20's was also diagnosed with leukemia. He knew that he had a terminal illness, so he lost all reasoning. He cursed and beat up nurses and doctors at will and then attempted to jump out of the building to kill himself. After I heard the news, I hurried to his room and sat down in front of his bed. I patiently told him about the true meaning of life. I tried to persuade him to be positive and reproached him about losing his reason and about giving up his life. He burst into tears and said, "I have been diagnosed with leukemia for more than a year, but no one has treated me like a normal person like you have. Until now, I have been given nothing but sympathy and pity. I don't need any of those." I encouraged the young man to live each day to its fullest. I told him that "having heard the Dao in the morning, one can die in the evening." During our conversation, the young man learned and accepted the facts about Falun Gong. He agreed to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. He also promised me that he would treasure his life and fill his head with as much Fa as possible. He took a copy of Zhuan Falun home.
There are more than a dozen Falun Gong practitioners in my hospital. They each spread the truth about Falun Gong and help people withdraw from the CCP. Since 2001, several people participating in the persecution of Falun Gong were diagnosed with cancer or died in car accidents. We use them as examples and advise people to respect Falun Gong and protect Falun Gong practitioners. We tell them that this is good for their own future. A lot of doctors and nurses that have accepted the truth about Falun Gong have agreed to withdraw from the CCP, as well as the CCP's Youth League and Young Pioneer Team.
Teacher said,
"The Dafa disciples' combined efforts have made the truth known around the entire world and will leave the evil with no place to hide. This has fully displayed the magnificence of the Dafa disciples of the righteous Fa and righteous belief.
Everyone, keep up your diligent efforts! Human history does not exist for [people] to take being human as its final goal, nor is human history a recreation ground created for the evil to display its viciousness. Mankind's history was established for the Fa-rectification, and only Dafa disciples are worthy of displaying their glory here." ("To the 2005 European Experience Sharing Conference")
Let's remember Teacher's words at all times and cherish all the predestined relationships. The closer to the end, the more diligent we should be in order to achieve Consummation and return home with Teacher.
