(Clearwisdom.net) Since July 20, 1999, Yao Benyou and Yang Qinglin (political and law committee members from Xinhuang Town, Hunan Province), Wu Zukun (policeman), Yao Benxin (National Security official), and Zeng Zuqing and Li Xinmin (members of the 610 Office) have willingly followed the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to persecute Falun Gong practitioners.
Twenty-nine practitioners have been sent to forced labor camps (including those were sent multiple times). They include Yang Xiuming, Gan Xiuying, Luo Jufeng, Hu Fangjin, Yang Faxiu, Shen Jinlian, Yin Guiying, Wu Yundi, Yang Dongyue, Liu Yuhong, Long Zhilan, Luo Juyun, Yao Cuiping, Cai Weili, Zhang, Xu Guisheng, Xu Fuba, Tian Songhai, Yao Yanfei, Hu Linhong, and Yang Xianjian. Some have been sentenced once, others up to three times. More than 140 practitioners in all have been illegally detained.
According to reports, local CCP members and 610 Office personnel have extorted more than 150,000 yuan in cash and the equivalent of about 1,000 yuan in food fees. Those practitioners who did not have the cash to hand over had their homes searched. The CCP members stole TVs, radios, Falun Dafa exercises tapes, Falun Dafa books, furniture, wood, cows, pigs, corn, and ducks. No receipts were given.
On November 1, 1999, an employee of the local civil administration, practitioner Ms. Yang Xiuming, announced that she would continue to cultivate Falun Gong. For this she was taken to detention by the secretary of the political and law committee, Yao Benyou (now the chief of the County National People’s Congress) and political security section chief Wu Zukun (now retired). They took 150 yuan from her as food fees. Wu Zukun, with about eight policemen, rushed into Yang Xiuming’s house. They searched it and carried off many things. They took one copy of Hong Yin. Later they slandered Yang Xiuming on the county TV station.
On December 5, 1999, Ms. Yang appealed to the authorities in Beijing. Yao Benyou and Wu Zuming sent her to detention for a month. Wu Zuming, and Yang Jianjun—the former deputy chief of the county police department—tried to extort 5000 yuan from her family and relatives. They managed to get 2000 yuan.
On February 4, 2000, Chinese New Year’s eve, Ms. Yang Xiuming was validating Dafa in her town. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor by Yao Benyou and Wu Zukun. On November 21, 2001, she was released. Her salary was withheld from October 1999 to May 2002.
On August 3, 2003, 610 Office official Li Xinmin, National Security Police officer Yao Benxin, National Security policemen Li Dongping and Yuan Jinaping from Yubing County, Guizhou Province, arrested Ms. Yang Xiuming without showing any documents. She was later sentenced to seven years of imprisonment. On November 18, 2004, she was taken to a prison in Dujun City, Guizhou Province, and is currently being detained and persecuted there. On January 25, 2005, the local authorities fired Yang Xiuming. They had withheld her salary since August.
After Ms. Yang was taken to the prison in Dujun City her family members tried twice to visit her, but their visit was denied. Yang Xiuming had some problems with her legs before she was sent to the prison. No one knows how she is right now. No news has been heard about her. Her family members and relatives, especially her grandmother who is over 80 years old, cry for her every day.
