(Clearwisdom.net) In July, a 70-year-old man living in a village in Huaiyang County, Henan Province, was diagnosed with terminal esophageal cancer. He was unable to eat anything because of the cancer. His entire family was worried and scared. Meanwhile, his wife's stomach disease recurred because of her worry and the pressure.
The next day, two female Falun Gong practitioners heard about this man's diagnosis. They went to his home and clarified the truth about Falun Gong. The old man trusted what they said and a smile lit up his face. After the practitioners left, the old man recites "Falun Dafa is good" and "'Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance' is good" whenever possible. The two practitioners visited him and his wife every day. They shared their experiences and understandings with the couple and also taught them the exercise movements. Soon afterward, the old man felt much better and his wife's stomach disease symptoms completely disappeared.
After learning the truth about Falun Dafa, the old man experienced a period of physical cleansing lasting 20 days. During this time, although he ate very little, he was in high spirits. He studied the Fa, practiced exercises every day, and even did some work around the house. After the period of body cleansing passed, he could eat just like a normal person without feeling any pain or discomfort. All the anxiety and distress that had weighed upon the family was swept away. They said, "Falun Dafa is so miraculous!" They thanked Teacher for saving their entire family.
Then something unexpected happened. One day a relative came to visit them. This relative told them that a hospital had some Chinese medicine that could cure his disease. The relative said that it would only take a dozen doses and each dose would only cost about 15 yuan. The old man was tempted to give it a try. However, good or evil can come from a person's spontaneous thought, and the thought at that moment can bring about different consequences. Just when he had the thought to go to the hospital, he suddenly felt very ill and his throat swelled so much that he couldn't even drink water, let alone eat. The whole family became frantic again.
The old man's daughter-in-law went to find a practitioner. The practitioner went to their home and found the old man in miserable condition. So she started to reason with him, "Uncle, you can't even drink water right now. Even if you get the medicine from the hospital, how are you going to take it?" The old man also realized his mistake and said, "After all, I have already been cured. What made me consider going to the hospital?" The practitioner advised him, "Don't think about it too much. There is nothing to be afraid of now that Teacher is looking after you. As long as you truly cultivate yourself, Teacher will help you solve your problems." The old man said, "You are right. Now I understand." The practitioner told him, "Since you have understood, I am sure you will be able to eat now." The old man's wife and daughter-in-law went to cook for him. The old man ate a bowl of noodles and two eggs.
The next night, he carried his quilt and went to his farm for night watch since it was harvest time. Before going to sleep, he practiced the exercises in the field. His mind was calm, and he saw fireworks dancing in the sky over the village where his daughter and her husband lived. He said the fireworks were very colorful and prettier than any fireworks he had seen before. The fireworks disappeared for a while, then reappeared. They disappeared again, and then reappeared again. They appeared a total eight times. The last appearance was so beautiful that words could not describe what he saw. He thought someone in his daughter's village had set off the fireworks. The next day, his daughter and her husband happened to come visit him. They told him that there had not been any fireworks there. The old man told the practitioners what he saw. They told him that Teacher must have opened his third eye. Teacher let him see scenes from other dimensions to encourage him to cultivate diligently.
Since then, the old man's health has become better and better every day. In two months, his weight has returned to normal. He has started to work on the farm and ride a bicycle to the produce markets. His health has returned to normal. His entire family, including his daughter, his son-in-law, and his granddaughter, have also started to practice Falun Gong.
