(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 29 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 14 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 32 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Yongfen and Her Two Daughters Detained Together
Practitioner Ms. Liu Yongfen works in Liling City, Hunan Province. In October 2007, her employer deceived her by saying he was going to"pay off her withheld salary (due to persecution)," but in actuality he arranged for her to be arrested. The police had her sentenced to forced labor and took her to Baimalong Labor Camp at the end of October 2007. Ms. Liu Yongfen's two daughters, Ms. Liu Chunqin and Ms. Liu Xueqin, are also Falun Dafa practitioners, and they are now detained in Baimalong Labor Camp as well. The family has not been able to see each other much for the past eight years. Her husband was not very healthy, and due to a lack of care, his mental stress caused more pain than his physical illnesses. He died of grief.

4. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Qi Ping Taken against Her Will to a Brainwashing Session Held in Xi'an Therapeutic Center
Practitioner Ms. Qi Ping is an employee of the Shaanxi Province Coal Mine Vocational School. On October 16, 2007, she was taken to a brainwashing class held in the city's Therapeutic Center. In the front building of the center, 15 practitioners (almost all of them forcibly taken there in October) have been bound to an iron chair, blinded by bright lights, and deprived of sleep. The other building in the back is used for brainwashing and forcing practitioners to watch propaganda.
5. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Shaoyan Sentenced to forced Labor
Practitioner Mr. Sun Shaoyan, 58, lives in Bei District in Qingdao City. He was arrested in August 2007, when clarifying the truth to people, and he was placed under custody in the Yan'an Street Police Station for two days. He was sentenced to one year of forced labor and detained in the Wangcun Labor Camp. He has a mother in her 80s, who has been left at home without a caregiver.
6. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Jinlin Arrested
Practitioner Mr. Wang Jinlin lives in Wangjiatuan Village, Mengtuan Town, Zhucheng City. On the afternoon of November 27, 2007, police from the town station and the Zhucheng City Police Department arrested him at his home, ransacked the place, and detained him in the Zhucheng City Detention Center.
7. [Guanhan City, Sichuan Province] Doctor Chen Lian Sentenced to Prison
Practitioner Mr. Chen Lian is a doctor employed by the Guanghan City Welfare Hospital. On December 12, 2006, police from the Wukuaishi Station in Jinniu District, Chengdu City, arrested him. He has been sentenced to three and half years in prison by the Jinniu District Court, and he is detained in the Wumaping Prison located in Leshan City, Sichuan Province.

9. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Bo Forcibly Taken to a Brainwashing Center
At around 6:30 a.m. on October 24, 2007, about seven police officers arrested Mr. Li Bo from his home, ransacked the place, and took all of his Falun Dafa books and materials. They detained him for one day in the Zhenxing Police Station, and then they took him the next morning to the Panjin City Third Detention Center and detained him for 15 days. They took him to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center afterwards, where there are more than a dozen practitioners imprisoned.
10. [Hebei Province] Ms. He Ruxian Dismissed from Her Teaching Position
Practitioner Ms. He Ruxian is a foreign language teacher employed by the Foreign Language Department of the Tangshan City Community University (through cable TV). She has been deprived her right to work since July 20, 1999, when the persecution began. Her employer took her salary book and withheld her pay. The CCP Committee recently decided to fire her.

11. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Guiping Arrested
Ms. Zhao Guiping lives in Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City. On the morning of October 4, 2007, she was arrested when clarifying the truth at the Xuanhua District Farmer's Market. Police took her to be detained in the Shisanli Detention Center the same day.

12. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] 610 Office Agents Order Neighborhood Administrators to Harass Practitioners
The Shijiazhuang City 610 Office ordered 610 Offices in Chang'an District and Yuhua District to have the Yucai Neighborhood Administration and the Dongyuan Neighborhood Administration harass Falun Gong practitioners and their families. They used the excuse that they were doing medical insurance checks going door-to-door, making detailed checks on practitioners' personal information, and asking if the practitioners would take any trips this season.
13. [Henan Province] Torture Sessions in Henan Province Third Labor Camp in Xuchang City
Recently, the administration of the Henan Province Third Labor Camp in Xuchang City started another round of forced brainwashing on detained practitioners. They are being deprived of sleep for a long period of time and locked in the small cell (2). Other prisoners are being encouraged to torture practitioners in the dark, etc.
14. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qiu Guiying Forcibly Taken to a Brainwashing Center
At around 11 a.m. on December 5, 2007, practitioner Ms. Qiu Guiying was babysitting her grandson at home. Officials from Daqinjia Town and the local police arrested her from her home, ransacked her home, and left her grandson without care. They confined her to the Linglongtai Brainwashing Center.
15. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Jianguang Arrested
Practitioner Mr. Liu Jianguang, 44, lives in Yulintou Village, Liangtang Township, Guan County. On November 3, 2007, police from the Township Station and Domestic Security agents climbed over the wall to break into Mr. Liu's home. Mr. Liu's wife is also a practitioner, and she has not been able to return home since the ransacking happened in October 2007. There was no one in the house, so they arrested Mr. Liu at his temporary workplace, the Guanzhou Corp.
16. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Mr. Xu Kai Still Being Tortured in Handan City Forced Labor Camp
17. [Pingdu City, Shandong Provicne] Ms. Pei Chenglan and Others Arrested
On the morning of December 7, 2007, police from the Dazeshan Town Station arrested practitioners from Yinjia Village clarifying the truth at the Xiyueshi Village Market, including Ms. Pei Chenglan, Ms. Yin Yongfang, Ms. Xu Wenhua, and Ms. Xu Sujuan.
18. [Tianjin City] Practitioner Ms. Li Hexiang Still Detained in Zhaijiadian Detention Center
19. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Tortured in Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp
A practitioner from Tangshan City is detained in Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp. When he arrived, the guards ordered about five prisoners to tickle him until he almost passed out. Then the guards ordered him to sit in the lotus position about seven hours while his hands were hung up by cuffs. He could not walk when he was first released from this position, and then the guards ordered several prisoners to drag him across the floor.
Another practitioner refused to cooperate and went on a hunger strike to protest. The guards force-fed him with a concentrated salt solution.
20. [Penglai City, Shandong Province] Additional Information on Mr. Sun Jianhua and Ms. Ren Xiuxiang's Arrests
On November 30, 2007, Mr. Sun Jianhua and Ms. Ren Xiuxiang were arrested by police when posting truth clarifying materials in Sanligou. They were detained in the Penglai City Detention Center. On December 1, and 2, 2007, four Domestic Security agents ransacked Mr. Sun Jianhua's home twice, took ten audio tapes, three DVDs, one copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and one Falun Dafa book. On December 4, 2007, more than a dozen police officers ransacked Ms. Ren Xiuxiang's home, took one box of printer paper and threatened her family to make them submit the computer and printer. Her 12-year-old daughter was severely disturbed and cried all day. Her husband and other family members are all under huge stress.

23. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Yong Detained
At around 1 p.m. on December 5, 2007, practitioners Ms. Tan Qingfen and Mr. Zhang Yong were both arrested by police from the Yuandongtou Station. The police ransacked their homes, released Ms. Tan Qingfen after interrogating her, and detained Mr. Zahng Yong in the Yishui County Detention Center.

24. [Xianghe County, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Fengxia Arrested
On the evening or December 6, 2007, police arrested Ms. Xu Fengxia from her home, ransacked her house, took away her computer, etc. They took her directly to the Langfang City Brainwashing Center.
25. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
On the afternoon of November 6, 2007, police from Huayuan Station arrested Ms. Zhou Aigen, Ms. Wang Ruiying, and Ms. Hao Xiufang when they went out to clarify the truth.
26. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Xiumin Sentenced in Prison
Practitioner Ms. Li Xiumin has been detained in the Shijiazhuang City Second Detention Center for eight months. The Shijiazhuang City Middle Court recently sentenced her to five years in prison. She is very physically weak.

28. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Many Practitioners Arrested
Around November 18, 2007, Mianyang City 610 Office agents arrested several practitioners when destroying a materials center. The practitioners were Ms. Zhou Xiaohua, Ms. Mei Mei, Mr. Liang (given name unknown), Ms. Xu Deming, and a young man (name unknown).
29. [Huainan City, Anhui Province] Some Practitioners Arrested Before the CCP 17th Congress Facing Trial and Prison Terms
30. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Chen Jinhua Taken to a Brainwashing Center
Practitioner Ms. Chen Jinhua lives in Pukou District in Nanjing City. On November 6, 2007, Domestic Security Division Leader Chen Jianning (male) of the Pukou District Police Department led a group of officers to arrest her and then detained her in Nanjing City Detention Center. After one month of detention, she was taken to the Pukou District Brainwashing Center by 610 Office agents.

31. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Ms. Qi (Employee of the Dongxihu Farm Brick Plant) Arrested and Detained on December 1, 2007
32. [Chongqing City] Mr. And Mrs. Zhang Yinming Arrested
Mr. Zhang Yinming is an employee of the Chongqing City Power Company and lives in the Huangjiaoping Neighborhood in Jiulongpo District. On September 28, 2007, about 40 police officers and neighborhood workers surrounded his home, broke down his door, and arrested him and his wife, Ms. Tang. Police took away his Falun Dafa books and materials. They released his wife five days later but detained him in the Huayan Detention Center in Jiulongpo District.

33. [Henan Province] Mr. Liu Xijiang Arrested
At around 3 p.m. on November 8, 2007, police from Xuanwu Station ransacked Mr. Liu Xijiang's home, arrested him, and took his desktop computer, notebook computer, audio recorder, one set of Falun Dafa teaching DVDs, and one set of Falun Dafa audio tapes. They detained him for three days in the station, then took him to a brainwashing center, where he has remained ever since.
34. [Huayuan County, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Xiaoqin and Others Sentenced to Forced Labor
On September 30, 2007, agents from both the Longshan County and the Huayuan County 610 Offices and Domestic Security Divisions ransacked the homes of practitioners Ms. Liu Xiaoqin, Ms. Tian Xinqin, and Ms. Yang Fuyu and arrested them. They were tortured in the Liye Town Police Station in Longshan County by being punched, kicked, forced to kneel for a long time, and forced to walk on sharp bamboo sticks. Ms. Liu Xiaoqin had many bruises on her body, and her feet were severely swollen. She was taken to the Huayuan County Detention Center after being placed under custody for 13 days in the Liye Town Police Station. She was released after another month in the middle of December 2007. On December 3, 2007, agents of the Huayuan County 610 Office and Domestic Security Division arrested these three women again and sent them directly to the Zhuzhou City Labor Camp.
35. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xia Shuli Still Detained
On November 20, 2007, police from the Xiangshang Border Station arrested Ms. Zhang Guiying and Ms. Xia Shuli while they were passing out truth clarifying flyers and ransacked their homes. Ms. Zhang Guiying was released, but Ms. Xia Shuli is still detained.

Note:
(1) Small cell - The detainee is locked up in a very small cell individually. The guards handcuff practitioners on their back in a fixed position, in which the practitioners can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. Detainees have to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served to detainees locked up in a small cell during the daytime. During the night the rats are running around. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.
