After watching previous NTDTV's New Year Galas on CD last year, Zheng said it was very artistic and that he was surprised to see the famous singer Guan Guimin. According to Zhang, Mr. Guan was a very famous singer in China, and most middle-aged Chinese are familiar with him. Zheng always thought Guan had retired because he hadn't seen him for a long time, "I was shocked to see him perform that day. I didn't know he practices Falun Gong. He is a great singer."

The song "Falun Shengwang" was written by Guan himself. Talking about his experience of creating and performing the song, Guan said the lyrics are based on his life experiences. Before he practiced Falun Gong, he studied many Buddhist sutras. "I didn't really understand what was in the sutras. I studied them like they were a type of knowledge, a concept. After I practiced Falun Gong, my chronic illnesses went away and in the process, I realized that many legends and stories, including those written on the Buddhist sutras, are real." "I believe what is in the Buddhist Sutras are real. The appearance of the Udumbara flowers in many temples in Korea and around the world tells us the Holy Law Wheel King described in the sutras is teaching his Fa and the prophecies from history are taking place. The Book of Revelations in the Bible also convey a similar concept about the Lord of Lords. Hence I thought about creating this song to share my understanding with the audience."
