(Clearwisdom.net) Hsieh Chang-ting will be a candidate in the upcoming presidential election in Taiwan. His supporters, who have formed the Hsieh Chang-ting Supporters Association of Thailand, held an inaugural meeting at the Emerald Hotel of Bangkok on December 18, 2007. About 200 Chinese Thais attended the meeting. Director Cai Zong-cheng gave a speech and introduced the VIPs. Taiwanese legislators Hsieh Hsin-ni and Shen Fa-hui both addressed the supporters. Thai media sent reporters to the meeting.
Falun Gong practitioners in Thailand took the opportunity to clarify the truth at this event. They distributed lotus flower bookmarks, truth-clarification CDs, and other materials to expose the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). When the legislators spoke, practitioners wrote on the slips soliciting suggestions the basic facts of the inhuman persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China.
Legislators expressed their gratitude to Falun Gong practitioners during their speeches and showed concern for the practitioners who remain steadfast in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" in the face of tyranny. They found it difficult to believe that the CCP would suppress such a group of people who simply cultivate themselves to improve their health and spirit. The CCP is the only regime that suppresses Falun Gong, and it is clear that the problem is the CCP itself. The speakers condemned the CCP's persecution and violation of human rights on the issues of Falun Gong, underground churches, Tibet, and Xinjiang. They called for all to support Falun Gong, and said that more support will eventually bring change to the situation in Mainland China.
Chinese Thais at the meeting took copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and other materials. They also saw pictures about the CCP crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. They discussed their thoughts about what they saw. They praised and admired practitioners' truth-clarification activities such as distributing flyers in front of the Chinese Embassy, holding peaceful petitions with banners and displays, and exposing the persecution.
