(Clearwisdom.net) An older Falun Dafa practitioner, Mr. Peng Guangjun from Houqiaoxin Village, Qiaoxin Town, the Huairou District, Beijing, died in January 2004 from the mistreatment he suffered in Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp in Beijing.
On January 15, 2004, guards transferred Mr. Peng Guangjun from the Relocation Division to the third ward in Tuanhe Labor Camp. On January 20, when the prison raised the "bloody flag" (the Chinese national flag), Mr. Peng shouted "Falun Dafa is great!" Because of this, he was transferred to the intensively managed ward, where he died from mistreatment at the hands of male guards Liu Jinhu, Zhang Baoli, and Li Qiang. Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp officials told the people outside the labor camp that he had died of a heart attack.
According to those who knew about this incident, when the police led his family members to the mortuary to view the body, they purposely turned off the light and only lit a single candle to cover up the evidence of their crime. The labor camp authorities bullied Mr. Peng's family members because they were simple peasants, and the police threatened them using various tactics.
It is said that Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp has prepared two set of strategies in order to evade responsibility for these particular types of crimes. If a case such as this incident is investigated, the labor camp immediately turns in the officers, in this case, Liu Jinbao, Zhang Baoli, and Li Qiang. They allow them to take full responsibility and be sentenced. But if no further investigation is conducted, the official word will be that the practitioner, Mr. Peng Guangjun in this case, died of a heart attack.
