(Clearwisdom.net) In October, 2000, the Heilongjiang Prison newspaper, which covers three dozen prisons in Heilongjiang Province, widely "reported" the story of my Falun Gong practice. They alleged that I was sentenced to life in prison because I practiced Falun Gong, "pursued consummation," and then robbed others. As the newspaper reversed the chronological order of my crime of robbery and my practice of Falun Gong, they handily managed to blame Falun Gong for my crime.
Back in March, 1995, I got involved in a robbery with guns. On April 28, the police from Daqing Police Department arrested me. I was detained in Daqing Detention Center on May 3, and transferred to another detention center in December. In 1996 the Daqing Intermediate Court sentenced me to life in prison, and on April 24, 1997 I was taken to Xinzhao Prison.
In 1997 while I was imprisoned, I started practicing Falun Gong. The miraculous effects of Falun Gong in cleansing and energizing the body drastically changed me. More importantly, my mind and spirit were completely purified in Dafa. I, an inmate whose mind used to be distorted and full of dirty and filthy things, and who had committed so many bad deeds, surprisingly began to follow the requirements of Falun Gong to get rid of all the bad habits. My mentality to fight and my dirty mind were substituted with Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Falun Dafa changed me entirely, both physically and mentally.
After the Chinese Communist Party began to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, in the prisons, which are always strictly controlled by the CCP, everything must be associated with the persecution of Falun Gong. If anyone practiced Falun Gong, they would be locked up in a confinement cell, persecuted with various tortures, and deprived of their most important right as an inmate - the right to get a reduction of their prison term.
In October, 2000, the authorities of the prison where I was imprisoned transferred me to Tailai Prison on the excuse that I "did not follow the administration." Then the Heilongjiang Prisons Newspaper, which covered three dozen prisons, widely "reported" my practice of Falun Gong. They claimed that "because" I practiced Falun Gong and "pursued consummation," I committed robberies and was sentenced to life in prison. Reversing the chronological order of my crime of robbery and my practice of Falun Gong, they easily managed to blame Falun Gong for my actions. In fact, my crime was committed back in March, 1995, while I started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. Before 1997, I had never heard of Falun Gong.
Having once committed crimes out of my ignorance and confusion and now imprisoned, I am confessing my sin deep in my heart, cleansing my mind, and suffering for my bad deeds. Fortunately I encountered the lighthouse of truth and belief, which helped me tell good from bad and righteousness from evil.
Time flies. I have spent twelve years in prison. Let my aspirations help others recognize the nature of the evil party, stay away from the evil, and walk towards a wonderful future. It is my greatest wish to persuade others to choose goodness.
