(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of September 7, 2007, a girl in her 20s walked quickly on the way to the Ninth Elementary School in Jihua. Her family lives outside in the countryside outside of Jilin City and is poor. She had recently come to Jilin City to earn an income by collecting and selling discarded items.
A student was walking ahead of her when she saw something fall out of his bag. When she came to it she realized it was money. This girl had heard the truth about Falun Gong from a practitioner. She knew that Falun Gong teaches people to be good and about the relationship between gain and loss. She picked up the money and ran to the pupil and his parent. She asked, "Was it your child who lost this?" The parent was not very friendly. The girl really wanted to keep the money, but she thought, "Falun Gong teaches 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance.' I should follow these principles." So she asked again, "Did this money fall out of your bag?"
The child's parent opened the bag and noticed that the 48 yuan the student was going to hand to the school was gone. The girl counted the money in her hand. It was 48 yuan. The parent said, "Thank you very much!" The girl said, "You should thank Falun Gong practitioners. They let me know how to be a good person."
Today in China's society, everyone measures everything with the standard of money. How great this girl behaved! She would have to pick up 480 kilos of glass to sell to earn 48 yuan.
