(Clearwisdom.net) While clarifying the truth in New York, I found that the display boards with straightforward messages and short words are a good way to reach people.
I chose a board with a picture on each side. The first picture is about Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gao Rongrong, who was cruelly tortured by Chinese policemen with electric-shock batons and left disfigured. The other side is a picture of western practitioners sitting in meditation. I held this board to clarify the truth whenever I was walking on the street or taking the subway. I would change the angle of the board according to the crowd's position and size. I tried my best to help more people notice it. Most of the people would stop and stare at Ms. Gao Rongrong's face in shock. I would then clarify the truth to them and give them more information.
One morning when I was on the subway, I held the board and another practitioner handed out truth-clarification material to the passengers one by one. An older Chinese couple sitting on the other side accepted a Chinese brochure. A middle-aged Chinese couple who had just gotten on the subway also accepted the material, and sat down next me to read it. Suddenly, the old man threw the brochure onto the chair, and spoke loudly to the middle-aged couple in Cantonese. The three of us practitioners are from northern China, and we couldn't understand them completely, but we roughly knew that they were attacking Dafa. We started to send forth righteous thoughts, but they continued talking. The middle-aged man crumpled up the Chinese brochure in his hand.
I then began talking to the middle-aged couple. I told them much more about why we came here, how we got the material and how much it cost. The Chinese Communist Party doesn't only persecute Falun Gong, but they also persecute other groups and the general public. Furthermore, the persecution of Falun Gong has harmed the police and the officials who have been involved in the persecution.
When I finished talking, the man asked me for one more brochure. I asked, "Did you throw the one I gave you away?" He pointed to his bag, meaning that he didn't throw it away. A practitioner said, "I saw him pick it up and put it into his bag." The middle-aged couple said, " He wants one more to give to his friend." So I gave him another one. The man bid us goodbye courteously as he got off.
After he got off, a young girl who accepted an English brochure wanted to film me with her video camera. I held the board to let her get a shot of both sides. The girl told me that her mother is Korean and her father Chinese.
I think that the change in the older man's attitude was the result of a battle between righteousness and evil. He threw down the brochure while being controlled by the evil in another dimension. Our clarifying the truth and sending forth righteous thoughts eliminated the evil that controlled him, so his attitude completely changed. Witnessing the change in that man, the girl with the camera also became interested.
