(Clearwisdom.net) Eugene is the second largest city in Oregon and every year it hosts the Asian Festival, celebrating traditional Asian cultures. In recent years, this event has become an important venue for practitioners to spread Falun Dafa and explain the facts of the persecution in China. This year, the Asian Festival was held on the weekend of February 19 and 20.
During the two-day Asian Festival, the Falun Dafa booth attracted the attention of many visitors. The melodious exercise music and the exercise demonstration caught many people's interest, who came to ask for Falun Gong truth-clarification literature. Many people inquired about local practice sites. Several children attentively watched the exercise-teaching video.
A gentleman from a neighboring booth said to a practitioner, "I'm very pleased to be your neighbor. Your energy field is very peaceful, very nice." He also told visitors who came to his booth, "They [practitioners] are telling people about the persecution occurring in China."
An older woman pointed at a practitioner doing the exercise demonstration and said, while circling her finger, "Look, the color is changing." A practitioner pointed at a Falun emblem and asked her if that was what she saw. She answered, "Yes. That's it."
A young lady watched the practitioners' exercise demonstration. She said that she had attended a Falun Gong workshop before and could remember many of the hand gestures. She talked with the practitioners and looked at Zhuan Falun. She said she would read the book and would join a local practice site.
A woman with her daughter came to the booth. She had heard of Falun Dafa and the persecution in China, and was eager to say, "We must do something. The persecution cannot continue. Perhaps we might go to Tiananmen Square with our own media." After watching the exercise demonstration, she came to the booth again and said that she was pleased to see practitioners. She wrote down the information about the practice sites and said she would come to practice the exercises. Before she left, the woman repeated, "We must do something, must do something..."
Near the end of the first day's activity, a man came up in a hurry. He said, while reading a flyer, "Free information, free teaching. I need both of these." He learned the first three sets of the exercises and then left reluctantly because he had to go work.
