Facts of the Persecution

1. Exposing the crimes of perpetrators from the Xiangtan City 610 Office in Hunan Province

Around 9:00 a.m. on January 18, 2005, perpetrators broke into 70-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Junjie's home and ransacked it. Zhao Yuefeng from the Xiangtan City 610 Office, along with Pan Jianli from the Politics and Security Division of the Yuhu Police Department and Li Feng, a political head from the Yuntang Police Station, were responsible. This was the second time that they raided Zhang Junjie's home. Zhang Junjie's wife Cheng Linghui was illegally detained three times and also sent to forced labor three times within three years. She has become paralyzed from torture.

Practitioner Ms. Peng Ruiqing, in her fifties, a retired employee from the Xinhua Bookshop in Xiangtan City was deceived into leaving her home by perpetrators from the 610 Office and the local police station. The perpetrators held Ms. Peng at the Jintangwan Detention Center and ransacked her home.

2. Persecution of practitioners in Xiadian Town, Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province

At midnight on April 1, 2004, a plainclothes police officer and two men in uniform abducted practitioner Li Cuijuan, an employee from the Nanzhao Supply and Marketing Cooperative in Xiandian Town, Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province, and sent her to the Zhaoyuan Brainwashing Class. They released her after 49 days of illegal detention.

3. Perpetrators in Jitai Town, Shaoguang City, Shandong Province

My name is Li Airong, and I am a Dafa practitioner from Wangxin Village, Jitai Town, Shaoguang City. I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was taken back by county government officials. They held the practitioners at the town Party School. Huang Shaohua, deputy secretary of the town Party Committee, ordered a dozen roughnecks including Li Wentong to brutally beat the practitioners. They kicked our backs and legs, slapped our faces and whipped our eyes with fly swatters.

My name is Qi Baohua. I am a Dafa practitioner from Qijia Village, Jitai Town, Shouguang City, Shandong Province. I went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa in July 1999 but was intercepted by the authorities. Around January 2000, I was illegally held at the Dongfu Town government for half a month during which time I was physically tortured on a daily basis. They forced me to stand outside in the freezing cold, they beat and kicked me at night and forbid me from sleeping, and they tied me to a tree. Once I collapsed on the soggy ground after it had rained and snowed, and my pants were soaking wet. A person named Guo Daixia kicked my feet so hard that the bones in my left foot were shattered.

Because I attended a Fa conference, I was arrested and sent to the Dongfu Town government offices. After holding a hunger strike for four days, I was sent to the Shouguang Detention Center. On June 25, 2000, it was scorching hot. The perpetrators forced 150 practitioners to lie on the boiling-hot asphalt in the street. If a practitioner moved, the perpetrators would whip his hands and feet. Because I refused to cooperate with the perpetrators, the head of the detention center ordered inmates to whip me. They went through the first leather whip and then a second. They only stopped when both of the whips were shredded. Because I held a hunger strike and did the Falun Dafa exercises, guard Li Ping kicked my chin and chest with his army boots. In October 2000, I was abducted and sent to the Dongguan Detention Center in Jitai Town where the perpetrators struck my ankles and wrists with clubs. They ruthlessly rubbed my toes back and forth against the cement floor with their army boots. My toenails turned black and came off a few months later. Another perpetrator violently kicked the inside of my thighs with the heel of his boots.
