Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Qiyong is from Chongqing City. Since May 2004, when the police abducted him, Mr. Zhang has been held at the Qijiang Detention Center. In order to protest the persecution, he held a hunger strike. For doing so, the police tied him to a "Dead Person's Bed" (1) and force-fed him so violently that he began to choke. While the police were inserting the tube, they always poked very hard, seriously injuring the inside of his mouth.

My name is Mr. Wang Yudong and I 'm a Falun Dafa practitioner. During my detention in Harbin City Jail at Heilongjiang Province I was illegally held in solitary confinement for 131 days. My physical and mental health suffered severely. In the 9th Division, Vice-Supervisor Geng Hao instigated criminals to torture me for a long period of time. On July 28, 2002, he locked me in solitary confinement for an additional 69 days. I was "Locked to a Ground Ring" (2) for 25 days, and suffered from hunger and cold. Twice, Geng Hao deprived me of sleep for eight consecutive days. On October 2, the criminals savagely punched and kicked my head and back. They also hooked their fingers on the bones behind my ears and pulled me up. They squeezed my testicles very hard, and sometimes they also hooked my collarbones and so on. Tortures such as these were inflicted on me ten times a day.

Facts of Dafa practitioners from the Bus Station Company, Laixi City, Shandong Province being persecuted: On July 28, 1999, Ms. Jiang Shue went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. Authorities brought her back and turned her over to local officials. The Bus Station insisted on fining her. At the end of 1999, Ms. Jiang returned to Beijing to appeal and tell people the truth about the practice. This time the Bus Station Company fired her. Three other practitioners from the Bus Station Company had the same experience. The Bus Station Company illegally deducted part of the salaries of Mr. Guao Shuqing, Ms. Wu Xiujie, and Ms. Li Li. At the end of 2001, when Ms. Liu Hong and another Dafa practitioner were sitting on a bus preparing to go to Weifang City, Shandong Province, Ms Liu was forced off the bus by the police. They then took her to the Chengguan Sub-Police Station and illegally held her there for several hours. Police in Pingdu City, Shandong Province abducted another practitioner. They took the practitioner back to Laixi City and held them for a day.

My name is Mr. Zhang Xuifeng, I am 33years old, and come from Fendou Street, Fangzheng Town, Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province. In September 1999, the police abducted me twice and also illegally held me in a detention center because I persisted in cultivating Falun Gong. In the end of October 2002, I was sentenced to a year of "reeducation through forced labor" for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.

After I was released from jail, in October of 2002, I was again abducted because I read Falun Gong books and materials, and gave them to other people. First the police held me in the detention center, then they transferred me to the Xinjian Jail in Harbin City. After that, they took me to the Harbin City Jail. On July 1, 2004, I was transferred to the Daqing City Jail. Due to the persecution, my family has fallen apart. My wife took my daughter and left home, my parents couldn't take the pressure and got sick. During my incarceration at the detention center and in the "Intensive Training Unit" (3) at the Xinjian Jail, I suffered tremendously from the torture. The severe wounds caused me to have difficulty urinating. In the Harbin City Jail, the police tried to force me to write the so-called "Four Statements" (4). When I refused to do so, they didn't allow me to eat, tortured me with "Locked to a Ground Ring," or they locked me in a solitary confinement.

Persecution facts of some Dafa practitioners from the Aohanqi Area, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia: Ms. Li Suya was sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp for appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing. She suffered a mental collapse due to the torture she received during the three years of imprisonment. On May 30, 2004, after her release from jail, Ms. Li Suya again went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. On June 3, she was taken to the Ningcheng Mental Hospital for further persecution.

On May 17, 2004, officials abducted Ms. Xu Guizhi and held her at the Aohan Monitoring Department.

To resist the persecution and harassment, in September 2003, Ms. Liu Caifeng was forced to leave her home and move from place to place to avoid further persecution. On July 4, 2004, Ms. Liu returned home. However, on July 6, the police abducted her. The police slapped her face many times and also shocked her with an electric baton.

The former Party Committee Secretary, Bai Runzhang, from Tangshan City, Hebei Province, the Political Judiciary Committee Secretary, and the chief from the "610 Office" (5), Chen Man, and the current Party Committee Secretary, Zhang He, followed Jiang's gang in persecuting Falun Gong. They even gave orders to their followers that no matter how badly Falun Gong practitioners are persecuted, it is never too much. As a result, officials from Luannan County, Tangshan City, forced Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Sujun, who was seven months pregnant, to have an abortion. Since July 20, 1999, at least twenty-two Falun Dafa practitioners from Tangshan City have been persecuted to death by the authorities. The Political Judiciary Committee Secretary, Zhang Man, has put his signature on the sentences of thirteen practitioners who were persecuted to death in the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City, and in the Hehuakeng Forced Labor Camp.

Notes:

(1) Dead Person's Bed - The four limbs of the practitioner are stretched out and tied to the four corners of a cold metal bed, leaving the practitioner unable to move. He is not allowed to get up to eat, drink, or use the toilet. This treatment lasts from several hours up to more than a dozen days. This type of torture causes severe mental and physical damage to the practitioner.

(2) Locked to a Ground Ring - The practitioners' hands are handcuffed and their feet are shackled. A ring is secured to the ground. Then the handcuffs, shackles, and the ground ring are tied together to a lock on the floor. Under such torture, the victim can only sit and is unable to lie down. The police often lock practitioners this way for several consecutive days. If the practitioners want to use the bathroom or eat meals, they would need other people's help. In the wintertime, the victim is not allowed to wear warm clothes.

(3) Intensive Training Unit - Specifically set up to force determined practitioners to give up their practice.

(4) Four Statements - Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write these as proof that they have given up their belief. Created by the "610 Office," the four statements consist of at least a letter of repentance, a guarantee to never again practice Falun Gong, and a list of names and addresses of all family members, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners.

(5) "610 Office" - An agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
