(Clearwisdom.net) On Sunday, February 15, 2004, US Congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham presented a resolution in honor of the beginning of the first North San Diego County Falun Dafa Week and proclaimed Sunday, February 15, 2004 as "Falun Dafa Appreciation Day" in the cities and communities of California's 50^th Congressional District.

Whereas, the North San Diego County Falun Dafa, from February 15^th through the 24^th, is celebrating its first Falun Dafa week. The celebration is to honor the practice of advanced exercise and meditation as introduced by Mr. Li Hongzhi in 1992; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa has helped people from all walks of life to leave drugs, alcohol, and violence behind them. Falun Dafa is taught free of charge, and it is practiced by approximately one million people in more than sixty countries; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa has helped people around the world to improve their health, calm their minds, and to deepen their understanding of life and humanity. Falun Dafa uses five exercises to improve energy circulation in the body. It emphasizes the cultivation of one's moral character through following the universal principles of truth, compassion, and tolerance; and

Whereas, North San Diego County Falun Dafa practitioners have, since 1999, shared Falun Dafa's teaching and exercises at venues that include the Carlsbad Public Library, the Oceanside Public Library, the Solana Beach Public Library, the Carlsbad Fall Village Faire, and the San Luis Rey Mission; now therefore, be it

Resolved, that in honor of the beginning of the first North San Diego County Falun Dafa Week, Sunday, February 15, 2004, is hereby proclaimed "Falun Dafa Appreciation Day" in the cities and communities of California's 50^th Congressional District.
