Truth about the Persecution

In late October 2000, lawless officials from Lixia District Party Committee and Lixia District Government in Jinan City held the first notorious Lixia District Brainwashing Class. More than 200 Falun Gong practitioners were sent there to be physically and mentally tormented. They extorted a great deal of money from the practitioners and caused the practitioners' families tremendous grief. The practitioners and their families suffered immense material losses and endured great pressure. Friends and relatives of the practitioners were also persecuted.

The "Legal Education Center" in Chengdu City is actually a forced brainwashing center. One head instructor and two assistant instructors monitor each practitioner detained in a small room at all times. It was learned that the provincial government has issued a document stating the "reform period" for every practitioner is one-and-a half years. It's assumed that practitioners who do not "reform" after that time will be sent to forced labor. The instructors revealed that in August, forty practitioners would be abducted and sent to the brainwashing center. One practitioner unintentionally discovered the blacklist, about one inch thick, with the names of Dafa practitioners in Sichuan Province.

Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions

Writing out my story of the path I have walked: I am 54 years old and had only three years of elementary school education. Before practicing Dafa I was suffering from many illnesses so severe that I would have rather died. After practicing Dafa I completely recovered. I truly experienced the supernatural power of Dafa and have decided to practice until the end.

After July 20, 1999, I went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested. At the interrogation I firmly refused to sign my name. A police officer had to sign his name instead while I was released and went home. From then on, the police often came to my home to harass me and would pound on my door in the middle of the night. My family asked me to give up Dafa practice. I told them all this pressure was created by the persecution, and no-one can change my determination to practice. On December 5, 2000, I was illegally arrested and sent to a brainwashing class where I was brutally tortured. Because I had firm righteous thoughts, I passed out on the drilling ground on the third day. The doctor said my life was at risk and I must be sent home. I was sent home and left the evil brainwashing class.

During the past several years I had many tests and tribulations. I realized that by remembering at all times that I am a true Dafa disciple, I can pass all of them.

What is true patriotism? Some Chinese people think we Dafa practitioners don't love our country, that we are losing face for the Chinese people by appealing for Falun Gong practitioners and telling them about innocent practitioners being brutalized by a villain. So, what is true patriotism? A patient who refuses to see a doctor "may die from a cold." For a country, bad things should be exposed and stopped in a timely manner. If the rulers of a country are afraid of being exposed and yet do not stop committing evil, the country itself will suffer.

We clarify the truth about Falun Gong to fellow Chinese people because we hope they can quickly realize the true nature of this evil persecution, in order to save the country and the people from danger. We clarify the truth to foreign governments and the media because we hope our country will achieve a proper position for itself as soon as possible, with the help of others. Any nation builds its own image; no other country bestows an image. The build-up of a nation depends on its own efforts and not others' praise. Narrow-minded patriotism is helping the evil. Besides, foreign people and governments will never change their opinions because a country whose leaders have committed crimes will not admit the fact of their crimes.

A Dafa practitioner in China: Dafa fundamentally changed my heart. Before I practiced Dafa I had numerous illnesses and I often had fights with my wife over trivial things. We also fought with our neighbors. After I obtained the Fa, Master purified my body and soon I recovered without taking any medications. I conducted myself strictly according to Truth, Compassion, Tolerance at all times. When my wife tried to bicker with me, I treated her with kindness and we no longer have any conflicts. Dafa changed my heart from the depth and changed my wife at the same time. My whole family became harmonious.

Recently, China has been suffering from high temperature, drought, and hailstorms:

In the afternoon and evening of August 13, a heavy rainstorm pelted the Heihe area in Heilongjiang Province, which caused a 20-hour delay in the operation of the Chenqing Section of the Beihe Railroad. In the morning, hailstones, a rainstorm and gale-force winds hit four counties in the Beian City, Heihe area. This hailstorm was severe and long lasting. A large area suffered great losses.

Ten days of continuous rain fell in Jiangsu Province following a lengthy stretch of hot weather. This strange weather is extremely rare and abnormal. From July 24^th to August 2^nd, Nanjing City, nicknamed "oven," had temperatures of above 32 ⁰C [about 90 ⁰F] for ten continuous days. The average temperature on August 1 was 34.2 ⁰C [about 94 ⁰F], which is the highest average daily temperature recorded since 1949. On August 2, the highest temperature in Nanjing City reached 40 ⁰C [104 ⁰F], which is the fourth highest since 1905, when the recording of temperatures was first established in the city.

The temperature in Shanxi Province is high and there is little rainfall. Around 10 million mu ["mu" is a Chinese land measure, 1 mu = 0.16 acre] of land has been affected and 1.45 million people are encountering difficulties in obtaining drinking water.

Continuous drought has hit Guizhou Province. Up until August 9^th, 648,430 hectares of crops were affected. Among them 418,200 hectares suffer from light drought, 193,870 hectares suffer from heavy drought, and 36,360 hectares of crops are completely dried up. Furthermore, 3,000,800 people have difficulty obtaining drinking water.

Between July 23 and mid-August, 18 days of high-temperature were recorded in Fengdu County, Chongqing City. Eight water reservoirs dried up and 42,740 hectares of crops have been affected. In addition, 213, 800 people are having difficulty obtaining drinking water.
