(Clearwisdom.net) Some of our practitioners had their computers invaded by Trojan viruses, resulting in quite a bit of damage. Our cultivation, truth clarification and sending forth righteous thoughts will continue as usual, but what have we learned from this? As cultivators we are immune to virus attacks and we should not be affected by viruses. Likewise, the Fa instruments of practitioners are immune and should not be affected by computer viruses. Then why did it happen?
The Trojan Horse was the unique weapon used to win the battle of Troy in the ancient times. The Battle of Troy started because of a beauty named Helen, who was kidnapped by citizens of Troy. Her husband, Agamemnon, led the army across the sea to attack Troy, in the attempt to bring back his wife. After a long delay without much success, he conceived the idea of building a giant horse made of wood, and left it on the seashore. Then he pretended to retreat. The people of Troy came out and took the wooden horse into their city and started celebrating. Agamemnon's soldiers, hidden inside the wooden horse, came out in the middle of the night, attacking from inside the city, in collaboration with the army attacking from outside. They then conquered the city of Troy.
In fact, it was the deviated minds of the people of Troy that actually caused their downfall. In other words, the doom started early, when the evil thought of lust was forming, and later, many other evil thoughts developed, to further their course to doom, including thought of taking something precious from its rightful owner, the strong attachment to exterior things, greed, and losing control due to zealotry.
For practitioners, there is nothing coincidental. When we could not keep a cultivator's state of mind and failed to do the three things well, rather we just treated these things as if doing ordinary things, then we should ask ourselves whether we had these ordinary people's attachments such as lust, zealotry, desire for external things, and were taken advantage of by the old forces, by way of "testing Dafa practitioners," using the Trojan virus.
The following is an excerpt from Teacher's lecture at the Vancouver Conference in 2003:
"That's why for Dafa disciples it's significant, and a serious thing, to start from an ordinary person and be able to completely transcend ordinary people during this process, and on top of that, you're cultivating in the ordinary society, and you have to meet higher standards--standards that transcend human society--and accomplish things that all cultivators throughout history have wanted to but never could accomplish. So things like your validating the Fa and saving sentient beings encompass how you improve yourselves, how you eliminate your omissions, things you're still attached to, and all types of shortcomings. This way, no matter what forms from the ordinary society you use in validating the Fa, you're cultivating, no matter what you do you're improving, and no matter what you do you should do it with a cultivator's state and not from the base point of an ordinary person."
