[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Over 300 Practitioners Detained in Changchun's Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp; Many Beaten to the Point of Disability
After the Changchun cable TV network aired Falun Dafa truth-clarifying videos, more than 300 Dafa practitioners were arrested and detained in Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp. Abusive policemen shocked practitioners with electric batons and whipped them with iron wires. Afterwards, they poured salt water on the wounds and continued to whip the practitioners. Many practitioners were beaten so savagely that they were disabled. Abusive policemen forced practitioners to write the "five statements" [such as renouncing Falun Dafa, promising not to go to Beijing to appeal for Dafa, and promising not associate with other Dafa practitioners] and more. In addition, they tried to force practitioners to curse Teacher, according to the document issued by top government officials. Those determined practitioners who did not give up Falun Gong practice were brutally abused and mistreated, and not allowed visits from family members. At present, practitioners have not been released, even though the detention terms have expired.

On March 10, 2002, policemen from Changchun City's Mengjia Police Precinct illegally broke into practitioners' houses and asked practitioners whether they practiced or not. If the practitioner acknowledged that he is practicing, the practitioner would be immediately detained. Those who said they did not practice were then required to slander Teacher.

It was said that officials from every Chinese Embassy were ordered to return to China to receive personal orders that "every Chinese Embassy must strengthen the 'investigation' of local Falun Gong groups" and find any opportunities to involve Falun Gong in legal issues.
Recently, some evidence showed that the vicious forces deceived Mr. Liao Xianping, an overseas Chinese from Taiwan living in the Philippines. [Beian City, Heilongjiang Province] Large-Scale Police Raid Against Dafa Practitioners; Several Arrests Made
Authorities from the "610 Office" and from Beian City's Police Department in Heilongjiang Province launched another round of abuse and mistreatment against Dafa practitioners. Picking names from a list of Dafa practitioners, on the night of April 18 policemen started a large-scale raid against practitioners. That night, several Dafa practitioners were arrested and more than ten Dafa practitioners were forced to leave home to avoid arrest. On the morning of April 19, policeman found a truth-clarifying material center. Two Dafa practitioners in this center jumped from the fifth floor with mighty righteous thoughts and were able to leave safely. We hope all fellow practitioners in Beian City and vicinity will be more alert and send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Zhongshan Police Precinct Authorities Kidnap Two Practitioners
On April 13, 2002, police officers from Zhongshan Police Department kidnapped two female Dafa practitioners from Jingzhou District, Dalian City. The police confiscated a computer, two printers, ink cartridges and some other items.

On April 7, 2002, all Dafa practitioners who were illegally detained at the Etouwan brainwashing class in Qiaokou District, Wuhan City, went on a hunger strike to protest the hanging of a picture slandering Dafa in the activity room. They were then brutally mistreated and abused. The lawless personnel of the brainwashing class unreasonably locked up each Dafa practitioner. One of the Dafa practitioners voiced her protest for their illegal behavior, but she received more inhumane maltreatment. Lawless officials were going to drag her downstairs and lock her up in an isolation room. Xie, head of the brainwashing class, said, "If you die from the hunger strike, the 'Focus and Interviews' CCTV program people will come to do a videotape and report that you committed suicide." 2. When a Dafa practitioner from Changye District, Jilin City was clarifying the truth at night, a local thug hired by the police illegally arrested her. The detailed information was not clear because the policeman did not allow her family to tell others. The thug got an ill-gained bonus out of the arrest. Before the Boao Asian Forum was held in Hainan Province, local officials started another large-scale raid against Dafa practitioners. Ms. Yuan Wei, practitioner from Hainan Province was kidnapped. More than 40 policemen surrounded her house to arrest her. Although Ms. Yuan Wei did not cooperate with the evil, policemen broke into her home. After they took Ms. Yuan Wei away, several policemen remained at Yuan Wei's home for several days and nights, attempting to arrest other practitioners coming to visit her.

More than 100 Dafa practitioners have been arrested since the large-scale raid began on April 9 in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. Now policemen are using all kinds of ways to break into practitioners' homes, with a master key or using a locksmith to open the doors. They arrest practitioners and ransack their homes. Afterwards, they wait at the practitioners' homes to arrest other practitioners. Sometimes if they find nobody at home after they pried the door open, they waited inside to arrest practitioners when they return.

On April 8 and 9, 2002, every work unit in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province received a secret order from Jiang. Following that order, lawless officials once again intensified the level of abuse and mistreatment against Dafa practitioners. According to the order, authorities must "arrest them, detain them and kill them."
At 10 a.m. on April 10, Jinzhou City's Police Department personnel and local police precinct people started to arrest practitioners. Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Fengmei was followed when she went to visit her colleague, a non-practitioner. The officers loitered outside her colleague's home. When her colleague asked whether they had anything to talk to them about, they said nothing. Her colleague ignored them. A few minutes later, a dozen policemen broke in without a warrant. They forcibly took Ms. Liu Fengmei away. After a while, the thugs returned to her colleague's home again to search. They only found the key to Ms. Liu's home, which she had left behind. Afterwards, these policemen ransacked Ms. Liu Fengmei's home without a warrant. They also did not notify Ms. Liu's family. When the Liu family came back home for lunch, they found their house turned upside-down. Everything was on the floor. Their two color TVs, one of them belonging to someone else that her husband was fixing, one VCR and a Walkman were all taken away. Two practitioners from other areas were also forcibly arrested that same day.
[Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Facts from Fushun City's Forced Labor Camp: Policemen and Prisoners Brutally Beat, Abuse and Mistreat Dafa Practitioners
Dafa practitioner Mr. Cheng Yuanlong is being held at Fushun City's Forced Labor Camp. Because he was not feeling well and did the exercises, the policemen beat him. They beat Mr. Cheng, all the while chasing him from the 3rd floor to the 2nd floor, then locked him up in a "confinement cell" for five days and forced him to stand up, day and night, while being handcuffed to a door. Common prisoners beat four Dafa practitioners simply because the practitioners had said, "How can you beat people at will?" The practitioners were beaten so badly that they had bruises all over their bodies, and their faces and eyes were bleeding. Among them, an over 60-year-old practitioner named Liu Shaochang was cursed and severely kicked by team leader Wu Wei with leather boots. Chen Weidong, the prison monitor, forced the practitioners to recite the 45 rules of the labor camp within one day and ordered the prisoners to beat Dafa practitioners, anytime, anywhere. He forbade the practitioners to speak and had prisoners follow the practitioners, even when they went to use the bathroom.
On April 6, a female Dafa practitioner miraculously escaped. The policemen tried to force the rest of the practitioners to tell how she escaped and tortured the practitioners one whole afternoon with all kind of excruciating means.
[Hanchuan City, Hubei Province] The Persecution Situation of Several Dafa Practitioners
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Aiping: In March 2001, Ms. Chen was arrested at her rented place in Wuhan City. Hanchuan City's Police Department personnel illegally detained her at the No.1 Detention Center. So far, Ms. Chen has been detained for over a year. Ms. Chen's husband, Mr. Nan Jun was arrested in the same month for distributing Dafa truth-clarifying materials. He was released after being detained for five months and paying a fine. During that period, their 10-year-old son was unable to go to school as nobody was looking after him.
Ms. Zhang is over 70 years old. In February 2000 she went to appeal in Beijing and was afterwards detained more than half a year. In July 2001 some unscrupulous person reported her while she distributed truth-clarifying materials. She has been held at Hanchuan City's No.1 Detention Center since then. At present, she is carrying out a hunger strike for many days to protest the persecution. A few days ago she was sent to Xiaogan City's Mental Hospital for a checkup. Her blood pressure was extremely high and she was diagnosed to be a critically ill patient. The Detention Center was afraid she would die there and thus requested the "610 Office" authorities to release her. But the "610 Office" hasn't release her so far. Ms. Zhang's over-70-years-old husband, who has dementia, is left alone at home without care.
Ms. Peng Yumei; over 50 years old; former contact person in Hanchuan City. In December 2000 she was arrested for going to Beijing to appeal. Later on she was detained for over a year. Shortly after she was released, policemen ransacked her home for no reason and put her again in Hanchuan City's No.1 Detention Center since then.

[Kaiyuan City, Liaoning Province] An Evil Policeman
Su Junzheng, a policeman from the Political & Security Section of Kaiyuan City's Police Department has abused, mistreated and harassed Dafa practitioners with extremely cruel and merciless means. He whipped the face of Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Jie from Changtu District of Tieling City with a wet towel and smacked Ms. Li so severely on the mouth with a shoe that her lips split and she was not able to eat for four days. Su Junzheng punched Ms. Li Jie so hard that her forehead and chest were all swollen, and she did not recover until over a month later. Su also punished Dafa practitioners by forcing them to kneel on the ground.
