A group of Falun Gong practitioners in the United States is continuing a hunger strike to dramatize the plight of jailed comrades in China.
The group of 10 activists entered a fourth day without food Tuesday. They are camped on a grassy square across from the Chinese embassy in Washington - a frequent site of anti-Beijing [persecution] protests.
They say they are supporting 130 Falun Gong practitioners being held at a labor camp in China's northeastern Liaoning province. Those alleged detainees also are said to be on a hunger strike.
China's government has not commented on the claims of the Washington-based group. The group members say they tried to deliver letters to Chinese Ambassador Yang Jiechi, but were rebuffed by the embassy staff.
