The Malta Times reported that on July 24, 2001, when president Jiang Zemin visited St. John's, five Falun Gong practitioners made their way in front of the entrance to St. John's and practiced their exercises. Practitioners became the focus of the media and the public, and shocked Jiang Zemin. When five practitioners started sending forth righteous thoughts, some kind-hearted local people picked up the banner and the posters brought by practitioners and held them above their head, saying loudly, "Jiang Zemin is the killer! Call for justice for Falun Gong practitioners!"
