[Lingshou County, Hebei Province] Great Snowflakes in Early Summer
From the night of May 29 until the morning of May 30, 2001, it snowed heavily in the Wuyuezhai neighborhood of Lingshou County, in Hebei Province. Within this vast area of over ten square kilometers, it was hazy from a thick fog. After a while, the fog coagulated into tiny snowflakes, then it snowed hard covering the entire area. The accumulated snowfall in some areas was as deep as over 30 centimeters (about a foot). Normally it should have been very hot that time of year. This snowfall is surely a sign of reckoning. We take this opportunity to warn those vicious people who are still persecuting Dafa practitioners: virtue is its own reward; evil brings retribution! The laws of the universe punish evil deeds!

[Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Masanjia Labor Camp Deceives the Outside World
Masanjia Labor Camp is extremely vicious. Female Falun Dafa practitioners have been forced to make work clothes over 10 hours a day. Each team uses two drug-addict prisoners to keep an eye on the practitioners. If they found Dafa practitioners doing the exercises, they would shock practitioners with electric batons and beat them up. In order to achieve their purpose of so-called "reformation of practitioners," the guards have adopted various means and shameless methods, fabricating scriptures (articles not really written by the Teacher) and materials, spreading lies, concocting rumors, framing and slandering our compassionate and venerable Teacher. They sometimes appear to be "very kind," yet they are extremely wicked toward those practitioners who refuse to be reformed. They torture the practitioners mentally, and try to "reform" them with coercion and pressure tactics. The practitioners are not allowed to sleep, and are forced to squat down facing the wall. They have completely lost their personal freedom.
Guards treat male Falun Dafa practitioners even more cruelly and inhumanely by using excruciating methods. Some practitioners have welts all over their bodies from beatings. The recently concocted lie that there is no such especially brutal treatment of men cannot be justified. Some Falun Dafa practitioners, who were among the first group of practitioners illegally detained in Masanjia Labor Camp, confirmed that there are male cells used for the most inhuman means of torture. Moreover, whenever superiors come to inspect, the guards are informed in advance to get prepared. They only allow the visitors to see those people who have already been "reformed." Those practitioners who refuse to be "reformed" are locked up and forced to squat down in the restroom. The guards thus create a false impression of civility to fool gullible outsiders so that the real vicious actions would not see the light of day. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Liu Dongmei Is Arrested Once Again after Making a Solemn Statement
On May 29, 2001, Liu Dongmei, a lecturer in the department of International Commerce English at the Northeast Finance and Economics University was once coerced into renouncing Falun Dafa in Masanjia Labor Camp. Later she repudiated her actions in a published solemn statement. Fellow practitioners were happy for her and were all deeply touched by the Teacher's great benevolence. The next day, the evil forces took Liu Dongmei away.
[Northwest China] Hundreds of Dafa Banners Cast Light on Northwest China
Falun Dafa practitioners from a city in Northwestern China were actively involved in the Fa-rectification activities when all Falun Dafa practitioners around the world sent forth righteous thoughts. They assisted the Teacher in the human world with their actions. They acted together to hang over 400 Falun Dafa banners on the main streets of the city on May 29; everybody returned home safely afterwards. On the morning of May 30, they punctually started the activity of sending forth righteous thoughts "The Fa rectifies the cosmos, the Evil is completely eliminated." At about 8:00am, Dafa banners flew in the wind under the blue sky and the golden sun.
[Shandong Province] "Clarify the Truth with Wisdom"
In order to better clarify the truth with wisdom and offer salvation to the people, beginning in April, whenever Falun Dafa practitioners hang banners, distribute flyers, or post truth-clarifying materials, they will attach a small leaflet containing an "announcement to the people." Those people who did not know the truth and acted as accomplices to the wicked people have stopped tearing up Falun Dafa materials and taking down Falun Dafa banners. This announcement has frightened the wicked people while more and more people have come to know the truth. The effect has been very good.
The Falun Dafa banners with red characters and yellow backgrounds are hanging from the trees on many streets in the city. These banners fly in the wind and can be seen everyday. They have become the banners suppressing the evil.
Below is the content of the "announcement to the people":
We announce to the people that Falun Dafa is the law of the universe, the law of heaven. It is from the greatest mercy of the Lord of Buddhas that such an immense Fa is being taught to the people during the Dharma ending period. We advise that kindhearted people learn the truth about Falun Gong, not tear the Falun Dafa truth-clarifying flyers and not take off the Falun Dafa banners. In so doing you will have a good future. People have more than one lifetime. A person's single thought may determine his future.

On May 30, 2001, a 9-meter-long glorious banner with the words "Stop Persecuting Falun Gong" was hung on the building facing the city's Public Security Bureau. The broadcast of World Falun Dafa Radio Station echoed above the labor camp and inside the city center. By letting more people know about Falun Dafa we have effectively exposed the evil and are eradicating it.

Around the time of the Spring Festival, after brutally beating several female Falun Dafa practitioners, Chaoyang District Detention Center in Beijing stripped off all their clothes and threw them into male cells! Two male Falun Dafa practitioners were also stripped of their clothes, with only their underwear left on and hung up by their heels. They were brutally beaten to the point of having dark and purple bruises all over their bodies. When they lost their consciousness, they were brought back with cold water in order to be beaten further. Finally, they were driven to the countryside and thrown out of the car at midnight.
[Beijing] Crimes Committed by the Security Guards of Beijing Majiabao Neighborhood Watch Team
Security guards of the Beijing Majiabao Neighborhood Watch Team tied together the wrists of ten Falun Dafa practitioners with an iron wire. The more practitioners moved, the deeper the wire cut into their flesh. The practitioners were beaten one by one. By midnight, the guards had only finished beating five practitioners! The guards stripped the practitioners down to their underwear. They forced the practitioners to stand barefoot in the snow for over two hours. The temperature was 15 C (-59 F), but the guards slowly poured cold water over the heads of the practitioners. The security guards burned iron rods and used them to beat practitioners one by one. During the beating the guards claimed, "What we are doing is of the grassroots nature." They were trying to say that it is not the police beating the practitioners, but rather they were beating the practitioners on behalf of the common people. They tried to put the blame on the common people. As a result, a security guard's feet ached after the beatings, so that he limped while walking.
Beijing police are all afraid of the righteousness of Falun Dafa practitioner Yu Hao. When police beat him, anything his hands touch would break. Yu Hao took the lead to shout slogans in the cell. All the practitioners in the cell together shouted with him. He held the door of the cell to prevent the police from dragging practitioners out for beatings. The police used fire extinguishers to spray at his eyes, ears, mouth and nose, but all of this was completely useless.
[Neijiang City, Sichuan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner from Weiyuan County Forced to Have Abortion by Injection
Falun Dafa practitioner Wu Jiuying, female, was more than seven months pregnant according to a physical examination done on her before she was illegally sent to a labor camp. Her reeducation was thus temporarily postponed. However, police placed her under illegal house arrest, and deprived her completely of her personal freedom by stationing guards at her door.
In their attempt to have her sent to a labor camp, the policemen forced her to have an abortion by injection. Not seeing any reaction after the first injection, the policemen forced her to have a second injection. The police's vicious action resulted in the practitioner being unable to get up since then.
[Beijing] Police in Chongwen District Cruelly Torture Falun Dafa Practitioners by "Twisting Their Fingers"
Police in Chongwen District Detention Center cruelly torture Falun Dafa practitioners who go on hunger strike. They insert the handle of a toothbrush between a practitioner's fingers, and then twist the handle while holding the fingers tightly. They then continue on with the next two fingers until all of the practitioner's fingers are bleeding.
Some police substations in Beijing would not allow Falun Dafa practitioners to eat for two to four days after they were arrested. Some practitioners were not even allowed to go to the restroom.

Some practitioners in Wuhan have to make a living by selling recyclable items that they pick up from garbage stations. They are facing extreme hardships. Even under such harsh conditions, they never yield to the wicked forces and continue to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa to people nearby. Some practitioners fired from work are having a hard time too. However, they have borrowed money from others to purchase computers and to learn how to browse the Internet. Falun Dafa practitioners who are imprisoned are under more pressure than those of us who are not and they need encouragement from our righteous thoughts. We practitioners of Falun Dafa are an integrated body. Their tribulation is the same as we have retribution. [China] Anecdotes of a 7-Year-Old Falun Dafa Practitioner
1. Spreading Falun Dafa
On a rainy day, a physical education class was changed to indoor activities. The students were supposed to recite poems and sing songs. A little Falun Dafa practitioner voluntarily went on the stage to recite the Teacher's poem the Knowing Heart. Later, he went to the stage again to recite another poem by the Teacher To Be a Human [unofficial translation of the title]. The class was quiet, and the physical education teacher didn't say a word. When the class was over, his classmates asked him what these poems are, and he answered that these are Falun Gong poems.
2. Righteous Enlightenment
This little practitioner's mom has been in custody for over two months, and no one in the family has been able to visit her; he did not have much sorrow though. One day his mom called and said she had been reformed, and they could visit her the next day. The little practitioner became very serious and was displeased. He said that there was no point to visit her since she had given up practicing Falun Dafa. He was determined not to go to the labor camp to visit her.
[China] An Engineer's View on the "Self-Immolation Incident"
An engineer said, "I am telling you that the 'self-immolation incident' is a political plot. The reason is simple. If the 'self-immolation' act were something from Falun Gong, then it must have been a common phenomenon. A few people should not have done this. There were 10,000 people during the Ɗ.25' incident (Falun Gong practitioners legally appealed for Falun Gong to the Chinese Government on April 25, 1999). I am watching closely for the follow-up reports of the 'self-immolation.' The result is clear, if 'self-immolation' were true, why are there no other followers doing the same thing?"
[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Police Arrest and Interrogate Falun Dafa Practitioners
On May 29, 2001, a Falun Dafa practitioner around 30 years old was arrested by Zhengyang Police Station, in Changchun City. An insider said that the practitioner was locked inside an iron fence. Police interrogated him and then they prepared to take notes, but the practitioner was doing the second set of Falun Gong exercise calmly.
During the last two days, police went to Falun Dafa practitioners' home and asked if they still practiced Falun Gong. The police said that higher level authorities requested them to check around. The practitioners dealt with them calmly and did not cooperate with the evil forces. When the police asked if they still practiced Falun Gong, the practitioners did not answer directly, but explained to them that to practice or not was personal business, such persecution was wrong, and that they greatly benefited from the practice. The practitioners talked a lot and the police left quietly without asking any more questions.
Recently, many Falun Dafa flyers with short sentences appeared on electrical poles and pay phones along the streets in Changchun City.

[China] Police Quickly Seize Those Falun Dafa Practitioners Who Were Forced to Leave Home
Many Falun Dafa practitioners were forced to leave home to avoid being taken to the illegal so-called "transformation class." They heard that police plan to step up the tracking, monitoring, and then seizing these Falun Dafa practitioners. Police have ransacked the homes of some practitioners in Beijing.
We hope that those practitioners who left home to get rid of the attachments of everyday people will think for the sake of the integrity of Dafa and for other practitioners, enforce their righteous thoughts continuously, do not let evil forces take advantage of their weaknesses, and persist until the end.
[Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Continue to Clarify the Truth and Validate Falun Dafa under Pressure
Currently, the evil forces in Shenyang City are in their last struggle. Around May 20, 2001, police arrested Jing Tian, Chen Jun, Tan Kaiyu, Jin Yang, Zhao Zhong, and other Falun Dafa practitioners. The practitioners were brutally beaten. However, they were not intimidated by the evil forces. The vicious persecution can only make us progress more diligently. We practitioners who have not been arrested shall undertake more responsibilities to spread the righteous voice of Dafa to more people.
[Henan Province] The Awakening of Villagers
Two Falun Dafa practitioners of Henan province were arrested for clarifying the truth of Dafa to people. Later, they escaped from the control of the vicious policemen and hid in a village. The vicious policemen yelled to the villagers, "Two Falun Gong practitioners ran away. Any person reporting their whereabouts will be rewarded 2,000 Yuan RMB [US $242, about a whole year's income of an average rural worker]." The villagers said, "We will not do that kind of immoral deed even if you reward us 20,000 Yuan. You have lost your humanity as you severely beat Falun Gong practitioners half to death."
[Nanyang, Henan Province] Police Hold Falun Gong Practitioners for Ransom
Police from Nanyang City, Henan Province stationed in Beijing, and some officials, went to Beijing to escort Falun Gong practitioners back to their hometown. They held the Falun Gong practitioners for ransom. They received retribution for their evil acts very soon thereafter. A car hit some policemen. Others had more than 1,000 Yuan RMB stolen from them. Of course they would in turn impose fines upon other practitioners as a means to collect money to make up for their losses.
The cost for staying in a room at the Blue Shield Hotel was 30 Yuan per day. However, the police added a fine of 200 Yuan per day for each practitioner. One practitioner was fined 2,000 Yuan (about US $240) for appealing in Beijing. Two policemen who escorted the practitioner back to his hometown disliked the Blue Shield Hotel. So they stayed in a luxury apartment suite in a three-star hotel near Qianmen Building. When they took the train to go their hometown, they didn't like the open hard bed. So they paid extra money to rent a soft-bed compartment. All of this cost nearly 1,000 Yuan. Thus we see why practitioners' fines have to be so large.
A practitioner was forced to hand in all of the money he carried, 600 Yuan (about US $72), when he was detained at the Tanghe Detention Center of Nanyang City, Henan Province. The detention center didn't give him any receipt, and the money would never be returned. He was fired by his work unit and was forced to pay a deposit of 5,000 Yuan (about US $600) again upon being released.
Practitioner Zhao Pingyu had been taking care of his children, escorting them to and from school, and cooking at home since he was released from the No. 2 Detention Center last August. However, the police from Xinye arrested him and illegally detained him again. They attempted to sentence him to jail. In order to prevent this, his family had to vouch for him with their salaries and pensions.
The security brigade of Wancheng District searched a practitioner's home and confiscated his motorcycle and cell phone. With the excuse of "Falun Gong Outlay," they also took 700 Yuan (about US $85) from him. That was all the money he had to support his wife and child. The practitioner went to Beijing to appeal, but was arrested on the way back. He was brought back and put in detention for complaining about these illegal acts.
The security brigade of Wancheng District of Nan Yang City confiscated practitioners' money without giving any receipt, and of course they never returned the money. They pretended to be kind, saying, "We will keep track of the money for you. If you take the money to the detention center, the personnel will confiscate it." In fact, unlike the security brigade, the detention center gave receipts when they took practitioners' money. Even the head of the cell left some money for the practitioners so they could purchase those items they needed for everyday living.
The captain of the Wancheng District Security Brigade, Wang Taicheng, led several policemen (one of them, who wore glasses, was called Duan) in the severe beating of Falun Gong practitioners in an office on the third floor. They handcuffed practitioners' behind their backs and beat them viciously with leather belts. They made some practitioners kneel down with their necks tied to their shoes. Then they beat and kicked them.
[Beijing] Falun Gong Practitioners Almost Transform the Transformers
Around May 1, 2001, police from Dewai Police Substation of Xicheng District took Falun Gong practitioners by force to a secret spot in Fangshan District to "transform" them after breaking into their homes. Then they illegally searched the practitioner's homes. Police also forced practitioners' employers to pay 5,000 RMB Yuan (about US $625) as the so-called "transformation fee." However, "Coercion Cannot Change People's Hearts." What actually happened was that the Falun Gong practitioners almost transformed the "transformers."
It is known that, on May 8, 2001, police from Dewai Police Substation and personnel from the Dewai Colligation Administration Office forcibly took practitioner Wang Ce and his wife Wang Yuqing away from their home. The Neighborhood Committee knew them to be very good people. They are known to be kind-hearted and always fair in their dealings. They have upgraded their morality and purified their minds through Falun Gong cultivation. Although they are over 60 years old, they are very healthy. They have already become the very best kind of person. What kind of person does Jiang Zemin's political group want to retransform them into?
[North China] Falun Dafa Practitioners' Righteous Deeds and Thoughts
Falun Dafa practitioners in a northern province of China collectively acted on May 27, hanging more than 30 banners on main streets and small lanes in an urban district. Statements such as "Restore the innocence of Falun Dafa," "Falun Dafa is a righteous way," "Falun Dafa has suffered the most injustice throughout the ages," "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance," and "Falun rotates forever" were written on the banners, effectively eradicating the evil beings. The practitioners sent out the righteous thought that "Whoever takes down the banner will receive karmic retribution," "What we are doing is helping the Teacher in Fa-rectification, thus the evil beings will not see us." Consequently, all practitioners safely returned.
[Nanyang City, Henan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Kong Yuqing Is Deceived and Illegally Put Under House Arrest by the Officials of a Silk Mill
On May 10, at around noon, Falun Dafa practitioner Kong Yuqing (female) was deceived by the leader of the Silk Mill of Nanyang City (her work unit) under the pretense of doing a pregnancy check for her. Her 5 month-old child was nursing, and she was off duty and at home at that time. So the leader drove to her home to give her a ride. After getting into the vehicle, however, she was instead taken directly to an illegal "reform class" sponsored by the Economics and Trade Committee of Nanyang City to be forcibly "reformed" to give up Falun Dafa. At that point, Kong realized that she had been deceived. She was immediately put under house arrest, and was followed around by two persons everywhere she went, thus losing her personal freedom. While she was being forcibly brainwashed at the "reform" class, her 5 month-old infant was loudly and incessantly crying at home. However, she was not allowed to go home without writing the "repentance letter" or the "statement of guarantee" that she would give up her practice of Falun Dafa. Afterwards, she sent out righteous thoughts to suffocate and eradicate the evil beings [a method taught at the 2001 Canadian Experience Sharing Conference http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2001/5/22/10271.html]. Then she safely and successfully left the class at around noon on May 17.
[Chenxi County, Hunan Province] Police Make Illegal Arrests
- Yang Shiqi (male): Several plainclothes policemen broke into his house, ruthlessly beat him on sensitive places of his body (such as face, chest, and stomach), and forcibly took him away to the police station for "interrogation." Late that night, the police sent him to the Detention Center of Chenxi County and illegally detained him there for fifteen days. After that, the police brought him in for another "interrogation." When he was released, three days later, his face was gaunt, and both his hands were extremely swollen.
2. Tang Yuhua (female): Several policemen from the police station of Chenxi County broke into her house and entered her room. Seeing that she was not at home, the police completely searched the house, taking all the money and Falun Dafa books they could find. Later, the police recognized her on the street, then arrested and illegally detained her in the Detention Center of Chenxi County. They refused to release her until after her family members had written the so-called "statement of guarantee" for her.
3. Tang Yuqing (female): Several policemen from the police station of Chenxi County knocked on her door at night after she had gone to sleep, and forcibly took her away without even allowing her time to get properly dressed. Thus, she was illegally taken away wearing only her pajamas.
[Changli County, Hebei Province] Criminal Activities of Song Fulin
Song Fulin, from Changli County, Hebei Province, incited the immoral police of various local police stations to disturb and illegally monitor the innocent Falun Dafa practitioners across the county, for no apparent reason. Some Falun Dafa practitioners were illegally detained for as long as seven months. They would be illegally detained for an extended period of time if they refused to sign the so-called "reform statement" or write the "statement of guarantee" to give up Falun Dafa. The police used the cheap psychological tactic of "the stick and the carrot" in "reforming" the practitioners.
[Anxi County, Gansu Province] Deputy Director of the Public Security Bureau, Li Hongwei, Repeats His Crime
The Deputy Director of the police station of Anxi County, Li Hongwei, is in charge of criminal reconnaissance. He has orchestrated the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in Anxi County once again, making this the third serious persecution there by the forces of evil. This time, two more Falun Dafa practitioners, He Xiulan and Li Julan, both female, were arrested and put into prison. The persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners outside the prison was frantically stepped up as well. He Xiulan and Li Julan were still illegally detained at the time this report was sent out.

[Qinhuangdao City, Shandong Province] Qinhuangdao Evening Paper Slandered the Buddha Fa Daily
Almost every day this past week or so, "Qinhuangdao Evening Paper," sponsored by the newspaper office of "Qinhuangdao Daily," in Shandong Province, has published the so-called "repentance" letters written by a person slandering and defaming Falun Dafa, in the "City News" column on the second page. The wording of these letters is very spiteful. All personnel involved in publishing this kind of article, such as the newspaper office manager, the editor, etc., are actually committing crimes. In the near future, criminals of this sort will certainly receive not only the penalty of the law, but also the punishment according to heavenly principles.
