On May 6, a banquet was held in Seattle. Taiwanese and Taipei University alumni welcomed Mr. Ma Ying-Jeou, the mayor of Taipei. A Falun Dafa practitioner was also invited. During the banquet there was a 10-minutes session for the attendees to ask questions. That Dafa practitioner was the first to be called up. She asked, "Mr. Ma, what is your opinion on the persecution of Falun Gong in Mainland China?" Mr. Ma said pleasantly, "Falun Gong is not restricted in Taiwan. It is supported. In fact, there are some people doing Falun Gong exercises near my home everyday!" He imitated an exercise movement and said, "It is like this. Very good!" "Thank you Mr. Ma!" the Falun Dafa practitioner said happily. Mr. Ma was applauded for his speech. From the movements demonstrated by the mayor, the practitioner knew he was imitating the third set of Falun Gong exercise--Penetrating the Two Cosmic Extremes. Mr. Ma may not have realized that his positive attitude towards Falun Gong was good for himself, as well as the people he represented. Later, Falun Dafa practitioners saw Mr. Ma again. In front of the building where the Seattle Conference for Mayors in Asian-Pacific Region was being held, many Falun Dafa practitioners from Seattle, Oregon, Vancouver, and other neighboring areas were doing exercises and clarifying the truth of Falun Gong. Interestingly, when Mr. Ma was driving by and saw the practitioners, he rolled down the window, and greeted them with a smile as he waved his hand. The practitioners also greeted him smiles.
