In order to prevent Falun Dafa practitioners from distributing literature that clarifies the truth about Falun Dafa, the residential committee in one city tried to hire a vendor as the watchdog to monitor Falun Dafa practitioners everyday; they promised to pay him 20 Yuan a day (equivalent to US$2.40). This person immediately refused, saying, "I wouldn't do such immoral things." Later, the residential committee found two other people for this job. Considering that they would make 20 Yuan a day, the two people agreed. But every time they arrived for their duty, they would stomp about downstairs, beneath the place where Falun Dafa practitioners were staying, to imply, "We are here, please be aware."

A director of a factory once had a talk with a Falun Dafa practitioner. The following is their conversation.

Director: "Someone in our factory and his daughter have been detained because they distributed fliers that clarify the truth of Falun Gong. These days the situation is very serious, you'd better not go out."

Practitioner: "We Falun Dafa practitioners are all nice people."

Director: "I know this. My employees who practice Falun Dafa are all good people. They work cautiously and conscientiously, and willingly bear the burden of hard work; therefore, we have tried several times to ask the police to release them, which they promised to do very soon."

Practitioner: "Thank you so much for your understanding. You certainly will be rewarded [in the future]. We distribute the fliers simply to let more people know about the truth."

Director: "Of course I know. You have already distributed the materials at the residential area of our factory with your daughter. Be more careful!"

After the self-immolation incident happened, a person who often goes to an Internet bar said, "Look, a new movie is being shown in Beijing; its called The Story That Happened on Tiananmen Square." He also believes that Chinese government officials staged the horrid incident.

Once, when two practitioners finished posting banners that read "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance," they saw a man walking quickly towards them. He shouted at the practitioners, "What are you doing?" At this time, one of the practitioners reminded himself to maintain righteous thoughts, so he quietly said to himself, "You can't see it (the banner); some people have been too bad to see the Fa [the Law of the universe]. Truth, Compassion and Forbearance are the laws of the universe; you're not qualified to see it." As a result, the man walking towards them walked around a telephone pole, searching with his flashlight, but be failed to find anything, so he left, discouraged.

To aid his wife in clarifying the truth and to keep others from being suspicious of her activities, a practitioner's husband would ask her, "Would you like to go for a walk?" when she wished to post truth clarification materials in public. As soon as she was about to leave, her husband asked, "Will you do some work tonight?" Then she would pat her pocket, "I've brought them with me." While posting the materials, her husband would stay behind to keep watch and to guard her. If someone passed by, he would walk near her and cover her by stretching his arms and legs.

One day, an employee of a factory said excitedly to a Falun Dafa practitioner, "Yesterday, on my way to a movie, I happened to see that there was a red poster on a wall with yellow writing that read "Truth, Compassion and Forbearance," but I didn't pay more attention. On my way home, I passed there again and saw that the three words - Truth, Compassion and Forbearance - were shining in golden yellow! You Falun Dafa practitioners are so supernatural!"
