Why I Practice And Appeal For Falun Dafa

I am a 55 year-old Falun Dafa practitioner.á I attained the Fa in June 1996. .In the first year and a half I read Zhuan Falun only once.á When I read the paragraphs about clairvoyance, "... see scenes of the other side of the earth", I could not accept it at that time. áHowever, soon after I developed cultivation energy, I saw scenes like Potala Palace, Mediterranean Sea, and Beijing... áI was deeply convinced by Zhuan Falun, the great law of the universe, since everything it says is true.

In July and August 1999, CCTV showed a series of reports that were against Falun Gong.áá I carefully thought these over. I was educated by the Party for many years; I áworked diligently all my life, and I love my motherland, my people, and the Party deeply.á I taught my own children to work well and to serve our country and people. I did not think that I was wrong.

Why did I practice Falun Gong? áI was laid off from work in 1994 (translator's note: because of financial ádifficulties, many government owned factories had to lay off employees with small amounts of monthly compensation).á In 1996, the factory could hardly pay any of the compensation it owed the employees.á The working employees could only take home 170 yuan (translator's note: the average monthly salary is 500 yuan, Chinese dollars).á The future was uncertain for me. áMy mother-in-law was bed-ridden due to paralysis, my father-in-law could not receive his worker's compensation every month, and I had an 88 year-old mother to care for as well.á I also had many medical problems: four to seven cervical osteophytes (this is a small abnormal bony growth in the neck) , rheumatoid arthritis, irritable bowl syndrome, neurasthenia (this is a neurotic disorder characterized by chronic fatigue, weakness, and memory loss), and heart disease, etc.á I could not have my medical expenses reimbursed and I could not spend the small amount of money that my family had left on myself. Then, someone told me, diseases could be cured when practicing Falun Gong; one did not have to spend one cent to get results. áI was not afraid of hard work, so I practiced Falun Gong.

Through practicing Falun Gong, many of my illnesses disappeared.á In 1998, there was a major flood.á My younger daughter and I donated some money and clothing.á However, before practicing Falun Gong, I would have not helped out . I was concerned about my own loss.á Zhuan Falun made me understand the principle of being a human being - to be a good person, and to be someone who is better than a good person.á Cultivation is definitely not wrong!

The TV propagandized that Falun Gong promoted superstition.á Did it, really? áMy own experiences tell me that no single line in Zhuan Falun deceives people.á At my current level, I have experienced the real existence of Buddha, Tao, and gods. áAn everyday person, who has not practiced cultivation, without the cultivation energy and the celestial eye opened, could not see these. There are far too many things that humans do not know!

The TV denounces áFalun Gong as anti-science and anti-humanity.á I considered these as nonsense. áWe are not unfamiliar with knocking the wood clappers at home and the vegetarian diet passed down from our ancestors. áChinese ancestors have left us temples, scriptures, and caves...á Not only are they the traditions of China with a long history, they are the real records that had been tested and passed by numerous generations. áJiang Zemin and his followers denied all these, which is unfair and absolutely wrong.

When I saw that the TV showed fee slips for "Master Li's appendix surgery", I immediately recognized that it was not Master's handwriting.á This is forgery.

I made a firm decision to practice Falun Gong.á I wanted to talk about my thoughts to someone, so I went to Beijing with my younger daughter in December 1999. áAs soon as we entered Tiananmen Square, a young policeman asked us: "You practice Falun Gong, don't you?" áI responded "Yes." áHe then called a police car to come and pushed us áto the car.á It was less than two minutes from the time that we entered the square to the time that we were pushed into the police car.á We were pushed into the back seats.á The policeman pushed a young practitioner inside the car to and started to thrash him.á In my life, I had never seen someone so badly beaten.á áI said: "Don't do this! Humans really do not just have one lifetime!"á The young policeman who sat in front of me, jumped from the seat and said: "What if I hit you or your daughter?!"á He then thrashed my daughter's cheeks, and clutched her nose.á I then heard nothing but the sounds of beating and cursing.

People from our local police station brought my daughter and I back. áI told them what I had seen. áBut the Chief said: "You all deserve to be shot dead!"á I was stunned. áThey interrogated me for one night and then sent me to our city's First Detention Center. ááThere I was separated from my daughter. áI was locked up with murders, swindlers, and ádrug addicts for one month.á The head of our cell, a criminal, could arbitrarily abuse the practitioners.á She hit us with brooms and asked us to pay for the broken brooms. áShe held our hair, and banged our heads against the wall.á Our heads were full of bumps, yet we had to stand on the cold wet floor as punishment.á When someone spilt the practitioners' soup, she would hit the practitioners instead and refused to allow us to eat...

The 1000 yuan that I had brought with me, was almost gone, by the time I paid the "travel fees" and "food fees" that the police charged me.á My family had to pay 200 yuan as "living expenses" for my daughter and me.á However, what we ate were black-flour buns, dry pickled vegetables, and noon soup with several pieces of vegetable leaves.á I was forced by the Security Department to pay 1000 yuan as a "deposit". áMy daughter had to pay 5000 yuan as a deposit without a receipt.á They then released us. When I came home, I wrote letters to the officials in our city and the province and never received an answer. áI then wrote to the State Council, the Ministry of Public Security, and the National People's Congress, etc. to appeal.á Since I did not know the addresses, I again had to go to Beijing. áI found the addresses in a post office and sent the letters out.á Then I heard that they stopped arresting practitioners in Tiananmen Square.á I wanted to confirm this, so I went to the square again.

Just as soon as I entered the square, four young men in plainclothes stopped me and asked: "Are you from Beijing?" áI said: "No. áI am from XX place." áA young policeman came to me and said: "You are a Falun Gong practitioner.á Come with me."á I asked him: "Did I say anything bad?" áHe said: "No."á I then asked: "Have I done some thing wrong?" áHe said: "No." áI said: "Do you believe that I am a good person?" áThe police said: "I believe you are a good person." áI asked righteously and sternly: "Why are you arresting a good person?" áThis young police lowered his head and said in a low voice: "The order from the higher authority is like this." áI pressed him: "Every day is like this?" áHe lowered his head: "Ah." áI was again pushed into a police car. áAt the door, several police were taking turns hitting a middle-aged Falun Dafa practitioner.á The words they swore were embarrassing to hear, and their behavior was more violent than ábandits.

I was sent back and locked up in the First Detention Center for two months.á Because I practiced there, Xiao Feng, the head in the cell beat me so that my head was full of bumps, and she kicked me so that I could not straighten my back. áWe were cuffed with our hands behind our backs.

In May 2000, my older daughter came to my house to give birth to her son.á I took care of her and the baby. áOn July 6, an official from my factory came to my house, and said that the leaders of my factory wanted to talk to me. áAt the time, I was changing my grandson's diaper.á I did not have time to change my clothes and just went with him. áI knew afterwards that I had been deceived.á I was sent to the city's Second Detention Center.

I did not violate any law.á I started a hunger strike.á On the second day, the directors of the detention center interrogated me.á They cursed me and handcuffed me in the field where prisoners were let out for fresh air.á They said: "Practicing Falun Gong is against the Party and the government." áOn the third day, several male police held me down and I was force-fed.á The first time, I desperately struggled, so they could not succeed. ááThe second time, they inserted a tube into my trachea and almost choked me to death.á The third time, after they finished inserting tube and filling me, the rubber tube áwas full of blood.

On the twelfth day of my hunger strike, they released me. á(My heart rate was 140 beats per minute lying down.) áThe second day after came home, I went to the city's government to appeal and was sent back home.á My younger daughter was still in the detention center and refused to drink or eat for a half month.á My older daughter and the baby were forced back to their own home. áI felt so sad, so I went to Beijing again to the State Council office. áAt the door, a 50+ year-old man said to me: "I am from the Ministry of Public Security.á You must practice Falun Gong."á I said: "Yes.á I just want to inquire about our Party's attitude towards Falun Gong."á He said: "It is Ok if you practice at home."á I then told him how my daughter and I were deceived and arrested.á He said: "Your local agencies might have reacted a little" He paused and then continued: "too extreme."

What else could I say?á I had no choice but to go back.á On my way home, I met the people from my factory who were looking for me. áI was brought back to the factory and monitored.

Several days later, I was told that I was sentenced to forced labor for three years.á I was immediately sent to a labor camp in Kaiping, Tangshan City, Hebei Province.á I did not bring anything with me at that time and my family was not informed.

I started a hunger strike.á I would like to use my life to fight against any unfair policy.

Because I practice Falun Gong, I was hung on a tree with hands cuffed to my back and lost consciousness.á I passed out when they force-fed me.á They tied my hands, stepped me down on the ground, clinched my nose, and inserted an iron spoon into my mouth.á They forced two containers of food down my throat. áWhen they saw that I lost consciousness, they struggled for a half-hour to make me breath again.áá Having been on hunger strike for a long time, my body became very weak and I again passed out.á When I woke up, my whole body was drenched in sweat.á I was forcibly admitted to Tangshan Mental Institute.á They forced me to take sleeping pills, and injected me with neurotoxic drugs. áI tasted death. ááOn December 21, on the113th day of my hunger strike, my family was asked to bring me home.á My husband broke into tears, when he saw that I was only skin and bones, could hardly walk, and just barely breathe. áá

At 9 a.m. on February 23, 2000, some people from local police station (including Wang, the vice-chief, Qi, the director, and officer Liang, et.al.) rushed into my house and asked my younger daughter to go to the station to have a "talk". áI said: "She is not going.á If you want to say something, say it here."á Qi said: "You are interfering with the police."á He dragged me outside and pushed me to the ground.á My head hit the cement heavily. áThe other three people forcefully dragged my daughter out.á My daughter, who was only wearing a sweater and a pair of sleepers, cried and struggled helplessly.á She had just come to visit me, after hiding in another province for several months, and she was arrested again.

It is the police who carried out the law, yet violated the law! áIt is the person who made the policies to persecute Falun Gong who violated human rights and the Constitution!

I want to write the truth to let all kind people to know - Falun Dafa practitioners are good people.á Jiang Zemin has violated the law. á

Falun Dafa is really good! áFalun Dafa is the righteous Fa!á Rescind the arrest warrant for Master Li!á Release all Dafa practitioners!á Please allow us to practice!

All kind people, with your conscience, please awaken the government to change this wrong policy and their behavior! áI firmly believe that we will be given a fair conclusion.
