Concern: human rights violation
Dear Mr. Hinrichs,
I have a request to you concerning a matter of a violation of human rights by Chinese authorities. I am asking you, besides others, in the hope that you can help me, my wife Wang Hua He and my family in law. A similar request to the Chinese authorities would very likely be ineffective or could even worsen the situation.
It concerns the following:
My family in law is of Chinese origin and at the moment they are being held captive because of the fact that they practice Falun Gong. In other words, they are not free to follow their belief and are therefore held in captivity. It concerns the following persons:
Name | Age | m/w | Relation | Present stay |
Li Guozhen | 85 | W | Mother in law | Nanchang |
Wang Yuan He | 54 | M | Brother in law | Unknown |
Wang Kui He | 52 | M | Brother in law | Unknown |
Zhong Yu | 37 | W | Sister in law | Unknown |
Wang Yuli | 14 | W | Niece | Nanchang |
My family members who are in the Nanchang prison are under 24-hour surveillance, which in effect means that they are kept awake for 24 hours. They have no access to sanitary and there is no light, besides that they are not allowed to ventilate. I do not have to tell you that these are disgracing circumstances and a direct violation of human rights.
My two brothers in law and my sister in law were arrested at December 17th and 19th last year, thereafter they were brought to Nanchang. We do not know where they are at the moment. We fear for their lives.
I have already asked Amnesty International for help. However there aren't any results yet. My request to you is: can Amnesty International extend help to release these people and to accommodate them in the Netherlands. My mother in law has lived in the Netherlands from 1990 to 1998 and now she wants to return to the Netherlands with her grandchildren, so she can live a worthy existence. I hope that you can help us and to receive a response soon.
Yours Sincerely,
Coenraad Warnaar
