[Minghui Net] A new semester just began at an elementary school. A campaign "Against Falun Gong" covered the entire campus and each student had to take a stand. Regarding what had happened to Liu Siying (the 12-year old girl that recently died from injuries) in the "Tiananmen self-immolation" incident, each student must write his/her understandings and must sign and agree to be "Against Falun Gong."
11-year-old Li Zhendi (pseudonym) was the only young practitioner in the school who had not been transformed. The principal and the teacher in charge of her class often used examples of transformed students to pressure her. But she never gave up her faith in Dafa [great law and universal principle]. Naturally, she was the focal point of the signature campaign. When they had realized that Li did not sign the statement, the teacher struck the table and shouted in the class, "Li Zhendi, why didn't you sign? Today, you must sign and take a stand, and get a thorough transformation." Zhendi suddenly stood up and said seriously to the teacher, "Falun Gong is not a [Chinese government's slanderous term]. I will not sign." The teacher was stunned and did not know what to say. The whole class was silent and all eyes looked straight at the teacher. Afterwards, everyone was talking about it and some students raised their thumbs and applauded Zhendi.
Later, the class would elect a student representative. Zhendi received the highest number of votes, so she was elected as the student representative in her class. After that, the teacher never brought up the matter about her practicing Falun Gong.
Speaking of Li Zhendi, there are many stories about her.
In the April 25th event (about 10,000 practitioners peacefully appealed the government compound in Beijing) in 1999, Li Zhendi said to her mom, "I am not afraid of being illegally dismissed from school. I want to go to Beijing to protect Dafa." Due to various reasons, her mom did not take her along to Beijing. She felt very bad not being able to participate in the April 25th event and protect Dafa.
On July 20, 1999, after knowing the arrest of some fellow practitioners, she and her parents hid their Dafa materials, and went to Beijing to appeal to the government and to clarify the truth. The family quick-wittedly passed the checkpoint inspection and got on the train heading to the capital. In Beijing, she, like the adults, did not fear the intense summer heat and hurried from street to street all day long. Facing numerous police on the streets, she did not show any fear. Instead, she felt happy being able to protect Dafa together with other fellow practitioners. She always recited Hong Yin [Teacher's collection of poems] to encourage everybody. One night, city police in Beijing started a large scale arrest and practitioners had to sleep in the weed fields in the suburban mountain area of Beijing. The next morning, she found mosquito bites all over her face. Fellow practitioners helped her count the bites and there were altogether 53 mosquito bites. She cheerfully said, "The mosquitoes drew the useless stuff from my body and I feel better!"
She had asked her parents to bring her along when they planed to go to Beijing to protect Dafa. In October 1999, she again went to Tiananmen along with her parents.
Her parents insisted on practicing cultivation, did not cooperate with the police, and did not write an assurance letter to stop practicing Falun Gong. They were forced to leave their home and Zhendi had to stay with her grandmother. The local police did not leave Zhendi alone. They frequently came to her school to harass and deceive her, and tried to find her parents' whereabouts. Zhendi kept firmly in her mind Master's "Mighty Virtue" (from Hong Yin), "Dafa never leaves the body, Heart contains Zhen-Shan-Ren; A great Arhat in the world, Spirits and ghosts fear the most." When facing the police, she was confident and refused to answer questions. The police could not get anything from her and they had to abandon their questioning.
She had been called into the principal's office many times and still the principal could not make her change her mind. One day the principal asked her, "Tell me the truth, will you still practice Falun Gong?" The music teacher, standing behind the principal, gestured and hinted to Zhendi to say no. Zhendi thought, "I did not give them a clear answer before and I always tried to bypass the question without taking a firm stand. This time I should make it clear. Like my parents, I'll validate Dafa." Therefore, she firmly said, "Yes, I will practice Falun Gong." The principal had nothing to say. Before class ended that day, the principal came to her classroom and gave her two oranges. Other schoolmates all felt envious of her. She thought that she might have done a good job and the Master was encouraging her.
One day in class, a classmate was saying bad things about Falun Gong. Zhendi asked him, "You say that Falun Gong is not good. Do you know what Falun Gong is?" The classmate said, "I heard it all on TV." Zhendi said, "Let me tell you, I practice Falun Gong. What you heard on TV was false. They tried to deceive you." She also told the classmate many true facts about Falun Gong. That classmate suddenly realized and surprisingly asked, "Really? How could the government do such things?" Thereafter, the classmate changed his view on Falun Gong. One day in class, a teacher asked the students to make a sentence using the phrase "close friend." That classmate raised his hand, stood up and said loudly, "Falun Gong and I are close friends." Zhendi was very happy. She knew that another life had been saved.
One evening, the television again broadcast news attacking Falun Gong. The muddled grandmother was knitting a sweater and saying, "It was Falun Gong that caused my son to wander away from home." She pointed at Zhendi and said, "You are a diehard youth. You cannot find your parents now. Why don't you change your mind and listen to the government." The grandmother started getting angry and began to scold the Master. Zhendi told her grandmother firmly, "You should not say that the Master is not good." Her grandmother stopped and never said it again. Her grandmother tried to explain, "I have read the Falun Gong books before. Looking after you is also cultivation at a different level." Zhendi said seriously, "You are afraid of speaking about the truth. That's selfish and that's not a real Dafa practitioner."
Away from her parents, she felt very sad. She always thought of her parents and worried about them. She wished her parents and other fellow practitioners did a good job in assisting the Master in the human world. She wished very soon the world would resume the recognition of Dafa and the Master. Zhendi wrote in her diary, "Master, we have stepped through the most difficult time. What else are we afraid of? Nothing, practitioners fear nothing. We're all waiting for the happiest day to come!
