The March 2001 European Falun Dafa Conference came to a successful close in Geneva, Switzerland today. More than 1,300 practitioners from Europe, Australia, Asia and North America attended the conference. This conference was held during a special time when the United Nations is holding an international convention in Geneva to discuss human rights and torture. The sky was a crisp blue with bright sunshine, even though the forecast called for rain all day.
Practitioners came from over 20 countries around the world to share their experiences together. Of the 15 or so papers presented, the major topic was regarding how European practitioners are stepping forward to clarify the truth during Fa rectification. The understanding of these practitioners was quite mature, including those of relatively new practitioners.
Many practitioners were still arriving during the day, and they will stay in Geneva for the following days during which many group practices, as well as special events related to the United Nations convention, will be held. During the evenings, practitioners gathered to study and discuss together, speaking many languages including Chinese, English, French, German, Swedish, and others.
