[clearwisdom.net] At present, more and more people in Germany are showing their concern and support for Falun Gong and are opposing the Chinese government's brutal crackdown. Especially among intellectuals and politicians, supportive voices are becoming stronger and stronger.
Professors of many universities in Germany have already nominated Mr. Li Hongzhi for the Nobel Peace Prize. Shocked by the Chinese government's brutal crackdown on a movement composed of peaceful and kind-hearted people, they express much praise for the cultivation principles, "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance," advocated by the founder of Falun Dafa, Mr. Li Hongzhi. They are also impressed with the truthfulness and benevolence of Falun Gong practitioners. They hope, through their nomination, they can stand up for justice and help stop the evil persecution.
Politicians have also voiced their concerns by taking action to help Falun Gong. In advance of the UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva, some mayors and members of parliament have already signed a petition letter that appeals to the German government to help stop the crackdown of Falun Gong by the Chinese government. This letter urges the Chinese government to release practitioners who have been detained, jailed, and sent to psychiatric hospitals and labor camps; to permit freedom of belief in China; and to withdraw the arrest warrant for Falun Dafa founder Li Hongzhi, which was issued on July 28th, 1999 by the Chinese government.
In addition to this, several major political parties in Germany have condemned the Chinese government's persecution of Falun Gong and the brutal human rights abuses.
