Photo Report: Inhuman Torture of Falun Gong Practitioners by the Police in Mainland China

| Falun Gong practitioner Li Caifeng (pseudonym), female, 65 years old. She was illegally detained by Beijing police when she was appealing at Tiananmen Square on the New Year's Day of 2001. Later, she was sent to Miyun Detention Center in Beijing where she was tortured by electric shocks and burned with cigarette butts. The photo was taken 9 days after she was released and the wounds on her body could still clearly visible. It is hard to believe that an old lady was tortured to such an extent. | Practitioner Tang Zhenlin (pseudonym) from Shandong province was illegally arrested by the police when he was appealing at Tiananmen Square on the New Year's Day of 2001. He was then detained in Mentougou Detention Center in Beijing where he was ruthlessly tortured by electric shocks and beaten by wood baton. The photo was taken after he was released. |
